The 'Smile' hitmaker fumed about the embarrassing run-in with a male member of airport security after he found tampons while checking her hand luggage at customs ahead of her trip to Italy this afternoon (18.09.13).
She tweeted: ''Also, props to the guy at security who actually laughed at the tampax he found in my handbag while doing a routine search. Not a euphemism.
''I mean tampax are hilarious right?(sic)''
It's unclear whether Lily was travelling for work or pleasure, but she got into the Italian spirit early, by tucking into meatballs ahead of takeoff.
She wrote: ''now I am at Pret eating Italian meatball soup which is stupid really because I'm going to Italy and the meatballs will probs be nicer there.''
Lily - who has 22-month-old Ethel and eight-month-old Marnie with husband Sam Cooper - also had a bit of time for celebrity spotting before he trip.
She added: ''I am at heathrow airport , I have seen Kelly Osborne and her fiancé, Paloma Faith, and Seal buying a laptop charger at Dixons.
''I think I heard seal saying that his laptop was never gonna survi-i-i-ve unless he gets another charger. (sic)''
