Lily Allen has sparked protest in rural England after purchasing a new country home for $2.08 million (£1.3 million).
The Smile singer, 24, is the latest celebrity to splash out on a property in the Cotswolds, a quaint area popular with stars including supermodel Kate Moss and Blur rocker Alex James.
But after Allen's purchase, angry residents have complained to government officials that stars are inflating house prices and making it difficult for others to buy homes.
Cotswold District Council Leader Paul Hodgkinson says, "There's concern about the lack of opportunity for local people to buy close to their families. Lily Allen will be more than welcome but something does need to be done to help the people of the Cotswolds."
The pop star's actor father Keith Allen recently purchased a $1.04 million (£650,000) farmhouse in the Cotswolds.
