British pop star Lily Allen has confirmed she has been sober since September (08) - insisting she has given up drink and drugs for the foreseeable future.
The Smile hitmaker is due to release her new album, It's Not Me, It's You, in February (09) and has quit her wild lifestyle to focus on her music.
And although Allen admits she won't be able to keep up her good behaviour forever, she is happy to stay away from the London party circuit right now because she fears becoming known as a drunk.
She says, "I've become a character in a comic... and that character is always drunk! I wish my comic character wasn't that.
"(I have been sober) since 22 September. I have no intention of taking drugs again at the moment. But I can't say 'Never again', because I don't know where I'll be in 10 years' time. And I will definitely drink in the future, just not for a while."
