British pop star Lily Allen received a massive $240,000 (GBP120,000) pay cheque on Friday (07Dec07) for a performance which lasted for less than an hour. The Smile singer was hired to sing a 40-minute set for mobile phone company Nokia's Christmas party at London's Paper nightclub, where she boasted about her fee to the audience. She told fans, "That's the most money I've ever made in the shortest space of time. "I'm getting paid for this more than any other gig and I'm singing worse than any other gig. I've not performed live for ages because I've been in the studio so much of the time, and so my voice isn't too strong at the moment."
