Lily Allen's Instagram Prank Might Get Aussie Policeman In Trouble

Lily Allen Miley Cyrus

Lily Allen’s Instagram prank with the help of an Australian police officer could land her and her co-conspirator in some trouble. Let’s rewind a bit. On Sunday, Allen was leaving Sydney, being escorted by officers through Gold Coast Airport, which was apparently just for her safety. According to TMZ, the Sheezus singer jokingly asked one of the officers to handcuff her and then posed on her knees for an Instagram picture. Allen will be joining the Bangerz tour for a handful of dates in the US this August, so maybe she was just channeling her inner Miley Cyrus?

Lily Allen
Hope the photo op was worth it.

Apparently that doesn’t fly with the Australian Federal Police. The law enforcement body has now launched an investigation into the incident, claiming that protocols were breached. Since then, the AFP has been sending some mixed signals about the whole thing, more or less excusing the officers by saying they were “caught up in the moment.”

Did Lily Allen Lie About Being Offered A Role In 'Game Of Thrones'?

Lily Allen Alfie Allen

Alfie Allen has all but denied that his sister Lily Allen was offered a role in Game of Thrones, but that she turned it down because of some incestuous material written into the plot. The offending scene occurred back in season 2 of the HBO drama.

Lily AllenWas Lily Allen's Game of Thrones story just that, a story?

Allen claimed that she was “asked to do a Game of Thrones cameo” on a Reddit AMA. “They asked me if I'd be interested in playing Theon's sister [Yara], and I felt uncomfortable because I would have had to go on a horse and he would have touched me up and s---. Once they told me what was entailed, I said no thanks. I would be open to doing a musical cameo like Sigur Ros, though,” she said.

Why Lily Allen's Instagram Profile Is THE BEST

Lily Allen

Aren’t celebrity instagram profiles the best thing? They’ve provided us with intimate insights, hilarious moments, the occasional bit of controversy and, in Lily Allen’s case, boob muffs (those are ear muffs, shaped like breasts, btw). It’s tough to pick favorites, but Sheezus’ profile is probably close to the best when it comes to hilarity. Here are our top picks from Allen’s camera roll.

5. The aforementioned boob muffs picture. We’re glad instagram didn’t censor this one, because the world needed to see these.

Lily Allen Cites Light Incest As Reason For Turning Down Game Of Thrones - Fair Enough

Lily Allen Unleashes "Sheezus" Music Video, And A Wave Of Confusion On The World

Lily Allen Rihanna Katy Perry Lorde Beyonce Knowles

Lily Allen really wants you to know she’s over pop culture – or some parts of it anyway. In her new single and video, Sheezus, she name checks everyone from Lorde to Beyonce and even seems to be referencing Kanye West. Allen’s digs at her fellow pop stars are harmless enough – “RiRi isn’t scared of Katy Perry’s roaring, Queen B’s gone back to the drawing/ Lorde smells blood, yeah, she’s about to slay you...” and it goes on along those lines for a couple of choruses. The theme seems to be “battle of the divas”, where Allen declares “Second best will never cut it for the divas/Give me the crown, b****, I wanna be Sheezus” like some technicolor female version of Kendrick Lamar.

Lily Allen
Like so many before her, Lily Allen is "coming for the throne."

The song has a heavier bass line than we’re used to hearing from the typically poppy Allen, but the lyrics are pretty catchy. Thankfully it’s lighter on the AutoTune than her last few singles.

Lily Allen Claims New Music Is "Rubbish" - But Is It Really?

Lily Allen

We’ve always known that singer Lily Allen was never afraid of saying what was on her mind, but her latest outburst, in response to a Twitter fan calling her music ‘rubbish’ might be her most shocking yet. Shocking because, well the singer agreed. When a fan took to the micro blogging site to call her latest musical offerings ‘docile pop rubbish’, Lily responded with ‘what you’ve heard so far yes. All I can do is do my best, the labels and the radio stations won’t play the better stuff.’ So is Lily and her disappointed fan right, are her new singles just ‘rubbish’?

Lily Allen at the Brit AwardsLily Allen is back, but for better or worse?

Lily Allen decided to take a break from the music industry back in 2009, by that stage she’d released two albums, 2006’s multi platinum ‘Alright Still’ and 2009’s ‘Its' Not Me, It's You’, so her musical hiatus came as a bit of a shock to fans. During her down time Lily became a mother to two children and married husband Sam Cooper in 2011. She also used her time off from music to open a clothing store with her sister and launch her own record label. Then in 2012 Lily found herself back in the studio, recording what was to become her first album in five years, the soon to be released ‘Sheezus’.

In a message posted on Twitter, Allen offered up two demographics that are allowed to take issue with her ideals: "Unless you're standing outside Downing Street with one of those Australian bush hats in place of corks shouting 'equal rights for men and women', you've got no place telling me what kind of feminist I am or am not,” she said, adding: “F**k off."

The 'Not Fair' hitmaker took a hiatus from the music industry in 2009, but it's been far from a much-needed break. Lily Allen Tops UK Singles Chart With 'John Lewis Song,' But Can She Make It To Xmas?

Lily Allen Susan Boyle U2

You know it’s the holiday season when songs from Christmas adverts take over the charts – in this case it’s Lily Allen’s cover of Keane’s Somewhere Only We Know. The track, which is featured in a John Lewis ad campaign, was bumped off the top last week. The gentle tones of Somewhere, so unlike Allen’s latest previous single Hard Out Here, still managed to topple One Direction’s Story of My Life and Bastille’s Of The Night.

Allen's Christmas cover will have to hold out for another two weeks against tough competition.

According to the Official Charts Company, Allen’s festive cover might even have a chance at the coveted Christmas Number one – provided it can outlast the competition. Somewhere Only We Know would have to beat songs by the likes of AC/DC, U2, and Susan Boyle to hold on to its Number 1 for two more weeks. This year’s festive chart sees the return of both X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent alumni, as James Arthur, Leona Lewis and Lucy Spraggan, as well as Richard & Adam and Susan Boyle will all be releasing singles. With so many people staking a claim at the Christmas Number 1, Allen will have a tough time keeping her lead.

The news that Tom Odell might reach the No.1 spot in the UK charts comes just two days after British music magazine NME gave a 0/10 as the 22 year-old's debut abum Long Way Down plummeted violently at the hands of jaded journo, Mark Beaumont who described Odell as a "virulent dose of musical syphilis." In response to his son's scathing review at the hands of NME, Odell's pilot father phoned up the music mag to complain that the debut had been reviewed unfairly, according to The Independent.

The MySpace Re-Launch: New School Chic Or A Disaster Waiting To Happen?

Justin Timberlake Pharrell Williams Arctic Monkeys Lily Allen Sean Kingston

Didn't MySpace die out long ago - like the dinosaurs - through means of natural selection and general lack of interest? That's what we thought, but just like Jurassic Park the past is being resurrected from the dead so it may roam the Earth once more and maybe, just maybe, survive longer than it did the first time round. However, the MySpace commercial seems to indicate that maybe, after's it's long hiatus, the website could be back for good as a host of of the biggest underground talents get together and celebrate the return of the site that brought us The Arctic Monkeys, Lily Allen, Sean Kingston and more in the past.

The $20 million ad-campaign from the newly-launched site features Pharrell Williams, Mac Miller, ScHoolBoy Q, Riff Raff, DIIV, Ciara, Trash Talk, Sky Ferreira and more as the site hopes to re-capture the success of the early 2000's. After such a momentous fall, how are Tom and co. going to make sure they don't suffer the same fate again? Well, gone is the emphasis on social-interaction and instead the main focus is on the musical side of things, with the site looking to work with FaceBook and Twitter rather than against it so that fans can keep up to date with their favourite musicians with little emphasis on introducing friends to the site or having to interact with other people on a large scale. So in other words, it's a lot like SoundCloud or Bandcamp, only with a shiny new advert and Justin Timberlake sitting on the board of directors for the company. It might still work, but frankly we're not going to hold our breaths and see if it becomes a success again.

A 'pal' of the star told the paper that "Marnie is a real cutie." And, that "Sam and Lily are ecstatic about adding another girl to the family. "A little sister for Ethel is brilliant news to lift the January blues for the family."

While she didn't use Twitter to break the news, she has used the social networking site to air her pregnancy grievances and thoughts. Marnie Rose is a couple of weeks late, so she left a couple of tweets about her plans for her birth.

Tom Odell - who was given a huge boost with an endorsement from Lily Allen - has triumphed in the Brits Critics' Choice Awards, NME Report.

"I genuinely can't believe it. Thank you so much. Looking at the list of amazing female artists who have won the Award already, I just hope I don't let the boys down!" he said after winning the accolade, which has previously been awarded to Emeli Sande, Jessie J, Ellie Goulding, Florence And The Machine and Adele. Given the talents of those recipients, you can expect Odell to be a house hold name in around... 4 minutes.

His glowing reference from Lily Allen will certainly have helped his case. She said: "I went to see him play and signed him to my label straight away. His voice is fragile yet powerful and he sings mainly love songs. I'm not usually a massive fan of singer-songwriter stuff, but when I saw him live his energy onstage reminded me of David Bowie. It's not soppy and moany at all, it's energetic and insightful. And he's totally gorgeous as well! Blond hair and blue eyes, and simply just lovely."

The up-and-coming British songwriter Tom Odell has been named as the winner of the Brits Critics’ Choice Award. He got his break in the music industry when a friend of Lily Allen’s took her to see him play and she was instantly drawn to the singer’s talents. Odell recently released his debut EP ‘Songs From Another Love’ and has expressed his surprise at learning that he’s been awarded the accolade of Critics’ Choice – becoming the first ever male artist to do so.

“I genuinely can’t believe it. Thank you so much. Looking at the list of amazing female artists who have won the Award already, I just hope I don’t let the boys down!" said Odell. Lily Allen – now known as Lily Rose Cooper – had already tipped Tom for success in NME, revealing “I went to see him play and signed him to my label straight away. Blond hair and blue eyes, and simply just lovely.”

The Critics’ Choice award is chosen by a panel of industry insiders every year and is awarded to an artist who is yet to have released a debut album. Previous winners have included Emeli Sande, Jessie J and Ellie Goulding.
