Lily Allen's Instagram Prank Might Get Aussie Policeman In Trouble

Lily Allen Miley Cyrus

Lily Allen’s Instagram prank with the help of an Australian police officer could land her and her co-conspirator in some trouble. Let’s rewind a bit. On Sunday, Allen was leaving Sydney, being escorted by officers through Gold Coast Airport, which was apparently just for her safety. According to TMZ, the Sheezus singer jokingly asked one of the officers to handcuff her and then posed on her knees for an Instagram picture. Allen will be joining the Bangerz tour for a handful of dates in the US this August, so maybe she was just channeling her inner Miley Cyrus?

Lily Allen
Hope the photo op was worth it.

Apparently that doesn’t fly with the Australian Federal Police. The law enforcement body has now launched an investigation into the incident, claiming that protocols were breached. Since then, the AFP has been sending some mixed signals about the whole thing, more or less excusing the officers by saying they were “caught up in the moment.”

Did Lily Allen Lie About Being Offered A Role In 'Game Of Thrones'?

Lily Allen Alfie Allen

Alfie Allen has all but denied that his sister Lily Allen was offered a role in Game of Thrones, but that she turned it down because of some incestuous material written into the plot. The offending scene occurred back in season 2 of the HBO drama.

Lily AllenWas Lily Allen's Game of Thrones story just that, a story?

Allen claimed that she was “asked to do a Game of Thrones cameo” on a Reddit AMA. “They asked me if I'd be interested in playing Theon's sister [Yara], and I felt uncomfortable because I would have had to go on a horse and he would have touched me up and s---. Once they told me what was entailed, I said no thanks. I would be open to doing a musical cameo like Sigur Ros, though,” she said.

Why Lily Allen's Instagram Profile Is THE BEST

Lily Allen

Aren’t celebrity instagram profiles the best thing? They’ve provided us with intimate insights, hilarious moments, the occasional bit of controversy and, in Lily Allen’s case, boob muffs (those are ear muffs, shaped like breasts, btw). It’s tough to pick favorites, but Sheezus’ profile is probably close to the best when it comes to hilarity. Here are our top picks from Allen’s camera roll.

5. The aforementioned boob muffs picture. We’re glad instagram didn’t censor this one, because the world needed to see these.

Lily Allen Unleashes "Sheezus" Music Video, And A Wave Of Confusion On The World

Lily Allen Rihanna Katy Perry Lorde Beyonce Knowles

Lily Allen really wants you to know she’s over pop culture – or some parts of it anyway. In her new single and video, Sheezus, she name checks everyone from Lorde to Beyonce and even seems to be referencing Kanye West. Allen’s digs at her fellow pop stars are harmless enough – “RiRi isn’t scared of Katy Perry’s roaring, Queen B’s gone back to the drawing/ Lorde smells blood, yeah, she’s about to slay you...” and it goes on along those lines for a couple of choruses. The theme seems to be “battle of the divas”, where Allen declares “Second best will never cut it for the divas/Give me the crown, b****, I wanna be Sheezus” like some technicolor female version of Kendrick Lamar.

Lily Allen
Like so many before her, Lily Allen is "coming for the throne."

The song has a heavier bass line than we’re used to hearing from the typically poppy Allen, but the lyrics are pretty catchy. Thankfully it’s lighter on the AutoTune than her last few singles.

The Body Transformation Of Lily Allen

Lily Allen

It has to be said, Lily Allen is looking in pretty great shape at the moment. When she first rose to fame in 2006 at just 20 years old, there was barely an ounce of fat on her and no-one could possibly have made any negative comments regarding her weight. However, after a weight gain following a difficult period, the ‘It’s Not Me, It’s You’ singer was famously embroiled in a Twitter tiff with toxic Katie Hopkins, who had criticised the mother of two. "I quite liked her when she was singing and kind of interesting and then she went off to tell us all about being a mother," Hopkins tweeted, adding, "She was removing herself from the spotlight because she wanted to be a mother and that largely involved gaining two stone and looking pretty hideous."

lily allen body Lily Allen was trim before the birth of her two daughters

Unkind words are Katie’s forte, particularly when you consider the catalysts to Allen’s weight gain. The star had previously suffered a miscarriage in 2008, causing her to spiral into depression. She met her husband Sam Cooper in 2009 and became pregnant, only to suffer from a stillbirth 6 months into her pregnancy. Allen finally managed to go full term with her daughter, Ethel Mary in 2011, followed by a second daughter, Marnie Rose in January 2013.

Lily Allen Claims New Music Is "Rubbish" - But Is It Really?

Lily Allen

We’ve always known that singer Lily Allen was never afraid of saying what was on her mind, but her latest outburst, in response to a Twitter fan calling her music ‘rubbish’ might be her most shocking yet. Shocking because, well the singer agreed. When a fan took to the micro blogging site to call her latest musical offerings ‘docile pop rubbish’, Lily responded with ‘what you’ve heard so far yes. All I can do is do my best, the labels and the radio stations won’t play the better stuff.’ So is Lily and her disappointed fan right, are her new singles just ‘rubbish’?

Lily Allen decided to take a break from the music industry back in 2009, by that stage she’d released two albums, 2006’s multi platinum ‘Alright Still’ and 2009’s ‘Its' Not Me, It's You’, so her musical hiatus came as a bit of a shock to fans. During her down time Lily became a mother to two children and married husband Sam Cooper in 2011. She also used her time off from music to open a clothing store with her sister and launch her own record label. Then in 2012 Lily found herself back in the studio, recording what was to become her first album in five years, the soon to be released ‘Sheezus’.

Allen's cover, which serves as the soundtrack for the much-applauded John Lewis Christmas advert, was unable to earn the singer her first number one since returning to music a few weeks ago. Still, the success of the single and the advert have gone on to spark renewed interest in the Keane original, which has returned to the chart at No. 29.

Garrix could have had the honour of being the youngest artist to reach No. 1 this year were it not for the infectious 'Royals' by 16-year-old Lorde reaching the top spot three week ago. Regardless, reaching the No. 1 spot overseas must be a pretty extraordinary feeling, especially when you're just 17! Speaking to OfficialCharts.com, the Dutch wunderkind said, “I didn't expect this success at all! I made Animals as a club record and seeing it chart so high worldwide and especially a Number 1 in the UK was really beyond my expectations. I will definitely celebrate this with my parents, friends and at school!"

Lily Allen Returns With Feminist Tour-de-Force 'Hard Out Here' [Video]

Lily Allen

Lily Allen marked her return following four years away from the music business on Tuesday (November 12, 2013) with a new song and video, Hard Out Here - a scathing parody of the modern pop video and the overly-sexualized requirements of female singing stars.

The 28-year-old's absence from the music industry came as acts like Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Robin Thicke and Miley Cyrus began thriving with highly sexualized videos and lyrics. Even the likes of Taylor Swift - previously considered a girl-next-door country pop singer - is now dancing around the stage in more provocative outfits.

In the new video, Allen is laid flat on an operating table as surgeons go to work. A suited male music executive asks how she possible managed to "get like this," with Lily replying, "Um...I had two babies." A sexually provocative video plays in the background.

Lily Allen's Baby Arrives In The Late Hours Of The UK Evening

Lily Allen

There was heartening news as Lily Allen’s baby came into the world last night (January 8, 2013), to give the pop star her second child with husband Sam Cooper, following on from the arrival of her first child Ethel 14 months ago.

You might recall that around two years ago Allen was beset by tragedy after losing a baby son when six months pregnant. However, managing to beat the depression that came from that, she and Cooper married in the summer of 2011 before having Ethel at the end of that year. Now another girl, little Marnie, has followed. Talking to The Sun, a friend of the couple said “Marnie is a real cutie. Sam and Lily are ecstatic about adding another girl to the family. A little sister for Ethel is brilliant news to lift the January blues for the family.”

Following a break from music, Allen started working on her third solo album last year whilst pregnant with Marnie. In recent days she’d been making a concerted effort to go into labour; at one point she posted on Twitter that she’s started gorging on curry in order to get proceedings under way, writing “3rd curry this week... cosywomb”. It evidently did the trick, and 2013 looks to be shaping to be a great year for her and her family.

Singer Lily Allen Says She Does Not Condone Drug Use

Lily Allen

Lily Allen has declared she does not condone drug use, after being criticised for suggesting cocaine use can be acceptable for some people.

The Smile star had said in an interview with The Word magazine that friends who regularly take the Class A drug are able to lead a normal life.

But after attacks from MPs and anti-drug campaigners, her spokesperson has issued a statement clarifying the 24-year-old's comments.

"During an interview with The Word magazine, Lily Allen was asked about the lyrics of a song on her album called Everyone's At It," it reads.

"The song's subject matter concerns drug use… At no point does she say that drugs are a good thing or that she condones drug use; in fact she says that 'I can spot the signs [of people on drugs] and it terrifies me'."

The track refers to both "legally prescribed drugs like anti-depressants" and illegal substances, the spokesperson said.

"Lily Allen would like to state unequivocally that she does not condone illegal drug use and has every sympathy with individuals and families whose lives have been blighted by drugs," the statement added.

However, Allen's comments have moved Carmen Collins - the mother of the late children's TV presenter Natasha Collins - to encourage the singer to consider the impact of her remarks about cocaine.

"It saddens me to think that young people who look up to Lily Allen will be influenced by her comments," Ms Collins told the Daily Mail newspaper.

Her daughter - the fiancee of the late Mark Speight - died last year after falling unconscious in the bath having taken cocaine. Mr Speight later took his own life.

"I'd like to show Lily Allen all the letters I've received, since Natasha and Mark died, from families who say they have lost loved ones or are powerless to release their children from the grip of drug addiction," Ms Collins added.

"Ultimately, I believe cocaine was responsible for both their deaths. I would just like Lily Allen to stop for a second and think about what she's saying and change it."

She continued: "She is a role model for so many young people and we are talking about the future of a whole generation here."
