We've heard it all before, Lil Wayne and rappers of his ilk bragging about the amount of money they're being paid to make their music, so allows us some scepticism when we report the news that he is apparently being paid the biggest deal in urban music to record his new record However, it's Cash Money Record's Birdman who is insisting that his man is being paid more than anyone else in history to give the label his recording rights.
Rumors are that Wayne could be getting paid as much as $150 million by Cash Money, something Birdman didn't confirm to MTV News, though he did say, "The type of situation we did never been done in urban music; it's probably the biggest deal ever in urban music. I'm blessed to even do that - whatever my son want, he can get. It's all his anyway, so it don't really matter to me."
For his part Wayne commented "Everybody knows I came into the game at 11 years old with Cash Money Records, before we even had a major deal. We signed a deal in I don't remember when, and I been with Cash Money ever since. So, if you're looking for integrity, I am the definition. If you're looking for a person that's gonna stay down, I am the definition. If you're looking for loyalty, I am just that." Whatever the figures, it's clear someone's earning a truck load of dollar.
