Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson earn more money than their One Direction bandmates.

The 'Story of My Life' quintet are estimated to be worth over £100 million altogether but as Liam and Louis write many of their songs - with writers typically earning nine per cent of each track's royalties - it's been suggested that they're making more money than their bandmates, and Liam has admitted they're working on even more material.

Liam said: ''Louis and I have a little partnership going on. We've been pretty keen to start writing straight away.''

The 20-year-old star also revealed that he's focusing on writing music so that he can maintain a career in the music industry.

He told The Sun newspaper: ''I've been in the studio already, it's been going really well. Learning how to write is the best way of ensuring your career has longevity and that you have control over it.''

Liam, Louis and their bandmates - Harry Styles, Zayn Malik and Niall Horan - have already released three albums since coming in third place on the 'X Factor' in 2010 but Liam says their next could be their best yet.

He added: ''I really think the next album is going to be a game-changer for us. I'm excited.''
