Liam McIntyre wedded his longtime flame Erin Hasan in a private ceremony this weekend, exchanging vows in the Australian actor's hometown of Melbourne on Sunday, 5 January. The pair said their "I do's" in front of family and friends in the intimate ceremony, with the couple confirming their union with People soon after they swapped vows.

Congratulations to the happy couple!

McIntyre, best known for his lead role as Spartacus in the Starz series Spartacus: War of the Damned, was overwhelmed following the wedding, telling People, "I'm beyond happy! I saw true love as a child and dreamt that one day I'd have the same. Today is the first day knowing that I'll have that forever."

The ceremony was a traditional Anglican wedding, held at the St John's Anglican Church Toorak in Melbourne. The ceremony also witheld the touch of fairytale that McIntyre injected into their union when he proposed at Walt Disney World in Florida in December 2012. Dressed Prince Charming and providing his now-wife with an elegant Disney Princess-like gown, the two sat down for dinner one night when Liam halted proceedings so he could get down on one knee and ask for Hasan's hand in marriage. Naturally, she said yes.

Here's hoping them a happy life together

The Disney-sized pomposity was missing from the actual wedding ceremony however, as the bride wore a flowing Monique Lhuillier gown, with the groom opting for a smart Giorgio Armani tuxedo.

The ceremony was followed by a reception held at the Rippon Lea Estate, where guests snacked on canapés, sweets and drank champagne into the night. Decorated in roses, antiques and tea lights, it was a fairytale ending to a fairytale evening and the beginning of what will hopefully be a fairytale marriage between the pair.
