Liam Gallagher has ''taken up horse riding''.

The former Oasis rocker - who is currently finalising the financial terms of his divorce from second wife Nicole Appleton - has reportedly whisked girlfriend Debbie Gwyther away to northern Italy for a much-needed holiday and has fallen in love with equestrianism.

A source shared: ''Liam has taken up horse riding and loves it. He finds it relaxing and it's a welcome distraction from everything that has been going on.''

The 43-year-old star - who has son Lennon with first wife Patsy Kensit, son Gene with Nicole and children Molly and Gemma from previous relationships - is also said to be planning to buy Debbie a horse of her own once his latest divorce settlement is finalised.

The source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: ''Liam fell in love with Italy. Everyone was so welcoming there and he had a great time with Debbie and their friends.

''They stayed in an incredible villa and Liam was thinking of buying a second home so he could divide his time between London and Italy.

''It would be a great place to take his kids on holidays and get away from it all. It all just depends on how it goes with the divorce settlement.''

Liam and Nicole - who tied the knot in 2008 - split when it emerged that Liam had fathered a child, Gemma, with US journalist Liza Ghorbani in 2013.
