Les Paul, the American musician who pioneered the solid-body electric guitar, is being remembered in a new Google doodle today (9th June 2011). Les Paul, whose musical inventions defined a generation of rock-and-roll, died of complications from pneumonia in 2009 aged 94, reports the Huffington Post.
Up until his death in 2009, Les Paul would regularly play shows at jazz clubs in New York City. He was recently named one of the ten best electric guitar players in history by Time magazine.
