The script for the film - used to promote Lawrence Ho and James Packer's global resorts and casino brand - is written by Wolf of Wall Street scribe and the creator of Boardwalk Empire, Terence Winer. Brett Ratner and Jules Daly are producing, with Packer and Ho executive producing, according to Deadline.

The movie will premiere next year at the opening of Melco-Crowns movie-themed resort Studio City in Macau - the world's biggest gambling mecca.

It reunites all the actors with Scorsese. De Niro has made eight movies with the acclaimed director, while DiCaprio also a string of collaborations to his name. Brad Pitt knows the filmmaker well and worked as a producer on The Departed.

In other Scorsese news, we heard this week that the veteran filmmaker is to make a biopic of The Ramones. The director is in the "way way early stages" of the project, his representative Michell Margolis said.

Drummer Tommy Ramone was the last surviving member of the original outfit before his death aged 65 in July last year.
