It's been a big week for Girls and its creator, Lena Dunham. Not only has the show just won Best Comedy at the Golden Globes, Dunham also won Best Comedy Actress, plus to top it all off with a big fat cherry, with all the hype surrounding the show after last night's excellent awards performance, ratings for the season 2 premier tonight (14th Jan) rocketed.

According to EW, like for like ratings compared to last year's opening sees Girls gain a full 500,000 viewers. It's not all good news for Dunham though and last week she was referred to a 'little fat chick' by Howard Stern. "'Girls'... it's a little fat girl who looks like Jonah Hill and keeps taking her clothes off and it kind of feels like a rape. I don't want to see that." He said, "she's such a camera hog that the other characters barely are on... Good for her. It's hard for little fat chicks to get anything going." He has since tried to repeal his comments but for some reason he comes across as disingenuous when he says his comments were being taken out of context. There's a positive context for 'little fat chick' Stern?

Plus, in the light of her growing fame she has added her name to the A-list roll call of people who wont marry before everyone can marry, as she told the Daily Mail: "I don't want to get married until all gay people can get married."
