Leelee Sobieski has signed on to star in a new cop show pilot produced by Robert De Niro.
LEELEE SOBIESKI, the American actress who earned an EMMY AWARD nomination for her role in the television movie 'Joan of Arc', has joined the cast of 'Rookies', a new pilot produced by ROBERT DE NIRO, reports Deadline.com'Rookies' follows the lives of six New York City cops who attempt to balance their hectic jobs in Manhattan with their personal lives. Sobieksi is set to play "a golden-haired California girl" named Gen Perry. Her character is a former member of the White House Color Guard who "can handle herself whether dealing with a gang-banger or a busted toilet". Sobieksi is perhaps best known for her appearance in the 1998 action-drama 'Deep Impact' and she recently guest starred on episodes of 'The Good Wife' and 'Drop Dead Diva'.
As well as 'Rookies', 67-year-old De Niro is also set to produce the crime-drama movie '36', about two detectives battling for a promotion and he recently signed on to produce an as-yet untitled sequel to his 1996 movie 'The Good Shepherd'.
