The Leeds half of the Leeds & Reading Festival is getting going a day early with live music provided by Leeds label Dance To The Radio on 23rd August 2012 from around 5pm.

Appearing on the newly announced stage will be the proclaimed 'kitchen sink indie' band Little Comets from Tyne and Wear who have sold out shows across the country following their debut album 'In Search Of.' and are set to release a second record 'Life Is Elsewhere' just before they hit the festival. Alongside them will play the more local Bradford band Scars On 45 who have caught the attention of American music lovers having had one of their tracks, 'Beauty's Running Wild', used in 'CSI: New York' and appearing on 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno'. We will also see the even more local Leeds band China Rats who are inspired by punk and 50s rock 'n' roll; an innovative mix that has impressed Radio 1 DJ Huw Stephens. York quartet Likely Lads and Various Cruelties will also make appearances on the DTTR Stage.

The Main Stage headliners for the Leeds & Reading Festival from 24th - 26th August are Foo Fighters, The Cure and Kasabian supported by an impressive line-up including Paramore, FLORENCE + THE MACHINE, Kaiser Chiefs, The Vaccines and THE MACCABEES.
