Innovative reggae superstar Lee 'Scratch' Perry performs his track 'How Do You D' live at the Fred Perry Subculture Sub-Sonic Live series event curated by British DJ David Rodigan MBE.
The 77-year-old played to a clearly thrilled crowd at the live event proving just how important he remains to be in reggae music. Wearing crazy boots, a baseball cap decked in badges and a beard dyed red, Lee croons away with his voice as old as his years alongside his band of guitarists and a drummer who bring his own brand of rock/punk infused reggae to the stage.
Lee's last album was with EDM (Easy Riddim Maker) entitled 'Humanicity' which was released in 2012. The Grammy winner has been performing and making music with little rest since the late 60s including with his band The Upsetters and even set up his own studio in the 70s, The Black Ark, producing music for the likes of Bob Marley & the Wailers, Junior Byles, The Heptones. and Max Romeo. The last few years have seen Lee perform at various events including this year's Dub Champions Festival in Vienna, New York's Dub Champions Festivals in 2011 and 2012 and California's 2013 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
