Lea Michele 's star is ever-rising and the proof of that came at the 38th annual People's Choice Awards as the actress walked off with the gong for Best Comedy Actress beating out older names like Courteney Cox, Kaley Cuoco, Tina Fey and 'Glee' co-star Jane Lynch.
Though Michele's turn in 'New Year's Eve' alongside Ashton Kutcher didn't go down so well with critics upon its release before Christmas, her ongoing role in the smash hit musical comedy 'Glee' continues to win her new acclaim and new success - even if it was something she herself wasn't expecting. Speaking to Access Hollywood before entering the Los Angeles bash, Michele claimed she'd fully expected her co-star Lynch to take the honours - saying "Listen, I'm in the same category as Jane Lynch so I got no chance but I'm just really happy to be here."
Surprisingly for her though she received the nod, though couldn't forget the rest of her 'Glee' cast during the speech, saying "I want to dedicate this to my amazing cast, my 'Glee' club. You are my family and my best friends. I'm an only child and now I have 11 other siblings." Humble till the last, the 25 year-old Tweeted later on in the night that her win hadn't been followed by any sort of mad debauched party; far from it "Such an incredible night! Im so so grateful and happy:) Back at home now celebrating in PJs eating pasta with my cousin watching movies!"
