Actress Laura Dern's critically-acclaimed Tv drama Enlightened has been cancelled after two seasons.

The Jurassic Park star co-created the series with writer/director Mike White and Dern won a Golden Globe for her role in the show as a manic executive trying to bounce back after a stint in rehab in 2012.

But there will not be a third season of the show.

Bosses at HBO, the cable network which aired the show in the U.S., have released a statement which reads: "It was a very difficult decision... We’re proud of the show and we look forward to working with Mike White and Laura Dern in the future."
