Lana Del Rey has just dropped the brand new video for her song 'West Coast.' In short, the clip is classic Del Rey video material with artful shots of Lana's eyes closed, rebel guys, beaches, and cigarette smoking.
Lana Del Rey Has Released Dreamy & Tragic New Video, 'West Coast.'
Shot mostly in black and white, the video begins with rolling waves and scenes of palm tree-lined roads before we see Lana canoodling on the sand with a long-haired actor. The pair have a great time playing in the water underneath the bright sunshine and we're lead to believe that this scene is in the character's past.
The scene changes and Lana is dressed glamorously and sitting in a car next to a smartly-dressed older man. It has been speculated that the man was inspired by the "my old man" character from her song, 'Off To The Races.' Lana smokes a cigarette casually as the couple caress each other under the passing streetlights until we're shown the beach scene with the long-haired guy again.
The New Video Shows Lana Dancing Amongst Superimposed Flames.
The final part of the video shows the singer wearing a red dress and superimposed on to a Sunset Boulevard-style scene. As Lana goes up in flames, she sings "I'm in love" repeatedly until the video fades out and we're left wondering what inspired such a surreal and imagery-filled pop music video.
