MTV Award Winner Albert Cerny's new band Lake Malawi have now released a video for their upcoming new single 'Always June' which is due to be released on March 23rd 2014. The band are currently on tour in the Czech Republic.
The video has been directed and shot by Michal Kunes Kovac and sees Cerny finding a suitcase abandoned in the street reading 'Holidays Forever'. He opens it furtively and seems amazed by the mysterious contents, but he accidentally locks the case by shuffling the combination lock before frustratedly realising he hasn't memorized the code. After failing to break it open, he boards a barge on which several girls clad in black are seated. One pushes the suitcase in the river with her foot. It's later picked up by a little boy as it washes up by a river bank. The tune reflects the title with its slow, almost reggae-like rhythm, calming riffs and pleasant synth tones which definitely add that summery feel to it. Even if the skies remain grey on the video, we're still convinced of the time of year.
Lake Malawi follows Cerny's previous project Charlie Straight and they are currently working on further recordings in London with Darren Lawson, Matt Lawrence and Alex Beitzke. They are set to hit the road in the UK later in the year.
