The former Hannah Montana actress/singer hit headlines for all the wrong reasons last weekend (25Aug13) when she stripped down to nude-coloured Pvc underwear and donned a giant, foam finger on her hand as she sang and danced provocatively with Robin Thicke and made inappropriate gestures to the live audience at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
The sexually-charged performance upset officials at America's Parents Television Council and prompted stars such as Cyrus' former Tv mum, Brooke Shields, and singer Cyndi Lauper to express their distaste at the 20 year old's onstage antics, but Gaga insists the youngster's detractors need to back off - because it's all in the name of fun.
The Paparazzi hitmaker has declined to share her own opinions about Cyrus' racy set, but tells Britain's The Sun newspaper, "I don't like to pass judgement on Miley. Generally, people need to lighten up about pop music, it's about entertainment. It is here to make people feel happy. Especially in America there is an excessive dragging of female artists and I don't want to contribute to that."
