Lady GaGa sleeps with her dance shoes before her concerts.

The 27-year-old singer is doing a 'Wizard of Oz'-themed performance of her new single 'Applause' on 'Good Morning America' today (09.09.13), and Gaga has revealed her pre-concert rituals involve sharing a bed with her footwear to calm her pre-show nerves.

Snuggling up to her bright red crystal-encrusted boots last night (08.09.13), Gaga posted on Twitter: ''Always sleep with my dance shoes before a performance. There's no place like home. #Applause.

''We're not in Kansas anymore. Were in ARTPOP. Dream big and fight for what you believe in. Night Night xoo (sic)''

The eccentric pop star announced her 'Good Morning America' appearance on the social networking site over the weekend and teased fans with a snap of her set containing a yellow brick road and an emerald curtain.

She said: ''I will be LIVE on @GMA this Monday Morning Sept 9 performing APPLAUSE in a 'GAGA of OZ' theatrical rendition!

''When Dorothy goes GLAM snatches all the weaves of OZ outsmarting the Wicked West as she thrills for your APPLAUSE! (sic)''

The 27-year-old pop superstar - who was forced to take time out earlier this year after injuring her hip - recently claimed she only really feels alive when she's performing in front of an audience.

She said previously: ''When I'm not on stage I don't feel alive. But when I hit the stage it's like everything that I'm thinking and feeling, where I belong - that's where it is.''
