Lady GaGa marked the launch of her Fame perfume by getting a Tattoo live at the event.

The controversial star had shaved the back of her head in preparation for the new design, which features a cherub with wings wearing a crown.

The Tattoo was completed live in front of guests at the launch on Thursday (13.09.12), with the singer stripped down to lingerie in the Solomon R Guggenheim Museum, New York.

Speaking about the design, Tattooist Mark Mahoney - who was helped out by his assistant Wes Brown - said: ''It's a Renaissance era cherub, a nod to her Italian heritage.''

But he admitted that it was ''a little distracting'' completing the design in front of a large crowd.

The 'Born This Way' singer also arrived at the event in a large replica of her Fame perfume bottle and fans were invited to reach through a hole in the bottle and touch the ''sleeping'' singer.
