Lady GaGa has a new protege - she is giving advice to upcoming British singer Ellie Goulding.
Goulding was presented with the Critics' Choice Award at last month's BRIT Awards ahead of the release of her debut album Lights on 1 March (10), and she's tipped to be one of the biggest British stars of 2010.
The 23 year old admits the pressure on her in recent weeks has been intense, but stars including Lady Gaga and Courtney Love have been supporting her.
She says, "There's been massive pressure, there's a definite dark side to all of this. Courtney has been really motherly. I was shocked. She was saying how well deserved my Critics' Choice Award at the BRITs was. It's good to have people who understand.
"Lady Gaga was also so nice, saying she knew what it's like for me, that she'd been there."
