Gaga was forced to cancel her show in the Canadian city on Monday because she had laryngitis.
Lady GaGa proved the special relationship between herself and her Monsters by buying them free pizza, to make up for a cancelled live show in Montreal this week.
Thousands of her loyal fans, dubbed ‘Monsters’ collectively, flocked to the Canadian city to see her perform on her Joanne world tour on Monday night (September 4th). Unfortunately, Gaga informed them shortly beforehand that she was too ill to play that night, having gotten sick with laryngitis while performing in the rain in New York City a few days before.
“To my beautiful fans. I couldn’t be more devastated that I am unable to perform tonight,” she wrote on Twitter. “I sing this entire show live, and pride myself on giving it all, but when I sang in the rain at Citi Field I got sick and have been pushing through.”
'Gaga: Five Foot Two' will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, then will appear on Netflix on September 22nd.

After a stellar Glastonbury set, all Ed Sheeran got was criticism on Twitter. Now he's decided he'd rather not deal with it at all, and has quit the platform and left all his social media responsibilities to someone else on his team. Someone who knows all too well the harshness of Twitter has sent him her full support.

JK Rowling, Chrissy Teigen and George Takei - we thank you.
Ever since social media was invented it's been used to, as millenials call it, 'throw shade'. We've all done it, but somehow it's even more equal parts shocking and hilarious when famous people do it - either to each other or to random internet trolls.

The acting world embraced Gaga this year, while music still remained her number one priority.
In October Lady GaGa released her third album Joanne, which debuted at number one on the US Billboard chart, topping off an already incredible year for the singer.
From winning a Golden Globe to paying a remarkable tribute to David Bowie at the Grammy awards, 2016 saw Gaga cement her place as one of the decade’s most important artists, while she continued to blaze her own trail in the music industry.

Lady GaGa has always managed to stay within the public consciousness due to her outlandish aesthetic, fantastical live performances and unusual and queer comments. However, most importantly her previous albums (particularly The Fame Monster and Born This Way) injected a fearless energy of euro-trash dance-floor anthems, which have propelled and maintained her in the realms of superstardom. Her previous album ARTPOP was received lukewarmly and is still incredibly underrated, mainly because as it was a much harsher, trashier and thematically much more confused outing than prior experiments.
Within the time between ARTPOP and Joanne, Gaga has remained a staple within pop culture through different mediums; releasing an album of jazz standards with Tony Bennett and touring it, performing a wonderful melody of songs from The Sound of Music at the Oscars in 2015, winning Billboard's Woman of the Year 2015, as well as starring in the hit TV show American Horror Story and winning and Golden Globe for her participation.
Gaga's return to her own music, as anticipated as it may be for her swarms of 'monsters' however is an admirable attempt at regaining a sense of authenticity in an era where authenticity seems to imply artistic evolution. In that regard, Gaga achieves an illusory form of such mainly through how meticulously rendered the album is. In an attempt of a bold rebranding of her now stripped down aesthetic lies confused half-baked concepts and a cacophony of confused and messy songs which are an unusual, and for the most part unsuccessful, hybrid of Americana, Rock, Blues, Folk, Europop, and Country. Joanne is painfully over-produced, which compromises the elemental nature which Gaga is going for, and for someone who still identifies herself to the public as Lady Gaga, Joanne is the result of a failed attempt at sincerity from an artist who has initially revelled in playful liberation and artifice.

It ain’t the world of pop if there ain’t a popstar beefing with another popstar and, as Kanye has gone quiet over recent weeks it’s left the door open for others to express their distaste for one another: this time it’s Lady GaGa and Mark Ronson vs. The Chainsmokers.

And, whether you love or hate her, you can't deny that Gaga has had Bowie written all over pretty much every crazy outfit she's ever worn.

She hit out at Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna and Lady Gaga in an excerpt of her new autobiography in Time Out.
Grace Jones has unleashed a tirade of criticism at all manner of modern pop stars, from Minaj to Miley, by describing them as “middle of the stream” and lamenting the current state of the music industry, in her new autobiography.
‘I’ll Never Write My Memoirs’ is released on September 29th, but as a taster she has published a few excerpts from the new book via Time Out. In one of them, Jones complains that a whole host of pop stars have copied her style but have no “long-term vision”, coming off as unoriginal and therefore easily replaceable.
“Trends come along and people say, ‘follow that trend’,” she writes. “There’s a lot of that around at the moment: 'Be like Sasha Fierce. Be like Miley Cyrus. Be like Rihanna. Be like Lady GaGa. Be like Rita Ora and Sia. Be like Madonna.’ I cannot be like them – except to the extent that they are already being like me.”

'Their plea is that they do respect it, respect it so deeply that they seek to find its fulfillment for themselves', he said. 'Their hope is not to be condemned to live in loneliness, excluded from one of civilization's oldest institutions. They ask for equal dignity in the eyes of the law. The Constitution grants them that right.'
