Lady Antebellum were alongside actress Melissa McCarthy in making their Saturday Night Live debut last night (1/10,) the country trio performing as the show's musical guests and performing first 'We Own The Night' and then, later, 'Just A Kiss' from their mega selling third album 'We Own The Night,' reports Huliq.

The trio have found huge success over the past couple of years, full breaking through with American Billboard Hot 100 number 2 'Need You Now' in 2009 after their self-titled debut album was released on Capitol Records the year previously. Second album, also called 'Need You Now,' and their most recent album - released two weeks ago - have continued the upward trend, with the latter going straight to number 1 in the US Billboard Top 200 charts. Though this weekend it's lost that placing to 'Duets II' by crooner Tony Bennett, it remains top of the Country charts.

The group are set to cement their growing popularity by hitting the road at the end of the autumn after an intimate acoustic affair at London's Union Chapel next weekend (7/10.) They kick off their American jaunt on 28/10 in Augusta, bringing proceedings to a close 24 dates later on 18/12 in West Virginia.
