Lady Antebellum singer Hillary Scott has married Chris Tyrell.

The 25-year-old vocalist tied the knot with the drummer in an intimate ceremony in New York with their family and friends on Saturday (07.01.12) - and the couple are "so excited" about starting a new chapter in their lives.

In a video posted on the 'Need You Now' group's website, she said: "We got married. We just wanted you to hear it from us first. We love you. We're so excited to be starting our life together and we just had to let you in on the exciting news."

Hillary wore a custom Vera Wang strapless mermaid dress for her big day, complemented with a mantilla veil, and Chris donned a grey Ermenegildo Zegna suit.

The singer's Lady Antebellum bandmates, Charles Kelley and recently-engaged Dave Haywood, were unable to attend the ceremony.

The pair tied the knot just six months after the 24-year-old star popped the question to the brunette beauty, which she recently described as her ideal proposal.

She said: "Chris proposed exactly the way I've always dreamed.

"Our families were close by, but it was just us out on a beautiful deck overlooking a lake in East Tennessee.

"We had just been on a hike and - in our workout clothes - he hit the knee! We feel so blessed by God that He sent us each other, and we are looking so forward to forever together!"
