British singer Labrinth will follow in the footsteps of his friend and collaborator Emeli Sande by receiving a special honour at Britain's upcoming Silver Clef Awards.

The Pass Out hitmaker will claim the Nordoff Robbins Silver Clef Innovation prize at the organisation's annual awards show, which is held to raise money for the charity's scheme to provide music therapy to vulnerable adults and children across the U.K.

Sande, who sang with Labrinth on 2012 single Beneath Your Beautiful, took home the same honour at last year's (12) event.

Labrinth says, "It's amazing to be awarded the Innovation Award. Especially when my pal Emeli Sande won it the year before... I'm always looking for new ideas and inspiration for my music so it's great to be recognised by Nordoff Robbins. Music is my life, so to see how it can help people through therapy is really cool."

The event takes place in London on 28 June (13).
