British singer Labrinth has called on talented young writers in the U.K. to compete for their own column in a national newspaper.
Editors at The Sun have launched a competition for readers aged between 18 and 25 to apply to have their work printed in the publication.
Glamour model Katie Price previously helped to launch Column Idol 2012 in May (12) and Labrinth is the latest star to promote the campaign.
In an article for the publication, he writes, "There's a lot of untapped writing talent out there and It's vital to give the younger generation a voice... There are kids out there with new ideas and this is a way for them to get their message across. I didn't go to university. When I started, all I had was my passion and conviction so I know how hard it can be to stand up and express yourself... Projects like Column Idol make it easier for young people to get themselves out there."
