British Grammy winners La Roux nearly missed their chance to pick up their award - after security guards banned the duo from entering the ceremony on Sunday (13Feb11).
The electropop stars flew in from the U.K. to attend the Los Angeles prizegiving, where they were nominated for two honours, including Best Electronic/Dance Album and Best Dance Recording.
But frontwoman Elly Jackson admits their big night was almost ruined when bouncers stopped them at the door.
She explains, "We've just been trying to get here, but the security doesn't like us. It's been a total nightmare. We've spent two hours trying to find someone to get us here."
The pair picked up the Best Electronic/Dance Album trophy for their self-titled debut, but lost out to Rihanna and her Only Girl (In the World) hit in the second category.
