Ouch! Kevin Bacon's wife Kyra Sedgwick has sliced off the end of her finger in a gory kitchen-kale-cutting accident.

Pictures of The Closer actress Kyra Sedgwick have been uploaded on to WhoSay by her husband, actor Kevin Bacon, showing her finger in a bandage with Bacon's caption: @kyrasedgwick in the ER. Kale isn't ALLWAYS HEALTHY... if you chop the end of your finger off" [sic].

Mrs Bacon was chopping up some Kale, a 'superfood' lauded for its health properties, which ironically here seems to have done more damage than good, with 47 year-old Kyra missing the curly green leaf and instead slicing into her own flesh.

In a rather grim tweet, Bacon reassured fans of his wife's safety but added " Still can't find the tip of that finger," suggesting that the bloody extremity may still be lying around, that is, unless the dog was feeling peckish.

After winding up in the hospital's emergency room, the Emmy-winning actress might be a bit more careful next time she's preparing Saturday night's dinner. USA Today draws similarities between Kyra's mishap and a similar Jesse James shudder-inducing incident where the TV personality and Sandra Bullock ex-husband lost a piece of his pinky after it got caught in the machine. Sedgwick and Bacon have been married since 1988 and have two children together. An actress who's known for her roles in 1996's Phenomenon alongside John Travolta and more recent Man on a Ledge (2012), Sedgwick might start to feel queasy next time someone shouts "Cut!" on set.
