The Australian beauty, who announced she had breast cancer last Tuesday (17MAY05), had the malignant lump removed on Saturday (21MAY05) at the Roman Catholic Cabrini hospital near her Melbourne, Australia home.
But the star's fertility could be affected if she requires a course of chemotherapy or radiotherapy following the lumpectomy.
Martinez tells Australia's NEW IDEA magazine, "We were going to start working on it after the SHOWGIRL TOUR was over. Now it will be put off, not forever - we pray and hope - but for the time being."
Martinez's brother Vincent adds, "The real blow to them is not so much the cancer itself - it's that they have to put off trying for a baby."23/05/2005 13:52
