Pop princess Kylie Minogue has denied rumours that she is having an affair with a married man, saying the press's reaction was "offensive".
The 38-year-old singer was spotted with south American film director Alexander Dahm while in Chile last week, sparking rumours that the pair are romantically involved.
However Kylie has denied the media speculation in a statement, saying that Dahm is only a friend who she met while doing a bikini shoot for high street chain H and M.
"I have never been unfaithful to a partner and would find it completely immoral to be involved with a married man," the statement from the Aussie singer said.
Dahm's wife Laura is eight months pregnant with the couple's second child.
"On her departure from Santiago, Chile, Kylie was shocked to see the over-reaction in the worldwide media to her spending time with a male friend and colleague," said Murray Chalmers, the Spinning Around singer's spokesperson.
"Kylie recently took time out from her busy recording schedule for a short break in south America. While there, she met up with her friend, movie producer Alexander Dahm, with whom she is discussing aspects of a potential film project."
"She found speculation in the press that she had been intruding upon an existing relationship particularly offensive."
Kylie split from her long-time beau Olivier Martinez in February.
