Singer/songwriter KT Tunstall feared she would be seen as a "freak" at last month's (FEB06) Brit Awards ceremony - as she had no idea who any of her fellow pop stars were. The Scottish guitarist, who picked up British Female Artist at the London ceremony, admits she spent her youth listening to musicians from decades ago, and has no interest in popular culture. She says, "The music I started listening to was Ella Fitzgerald, Joni Mitchell, Tom Waits and THE Flaming Lips. "I know absolutely nothing of pop culture. Even being at the Brits is weird for me, because I've never actually seen a Brits show in my life before. "The first time I've seen one is when I've been here. I'm just a bit of a freak really."
