Actress Kristin Davis is celebrating after smashing her charity fundraising goal to help victims of the hunger crisis in West Africa.
The Sex and the City star, a global ambassador for Oxfam, set up a webpage encouraging fans to donate money to help her reach her $10,000 (£6,250) goal earlier this year (12) to provide aid for those suffering in the troubled Sahel region, where locals have battled a drought and a lack of food.
On Wednesday (24Oct12), she learned she had sailed past her target by more than $300 (£188) and she has taken to her Twitter.com page to thank everyone who dug deep to donate.
She writes, "I'm so excited to raise 10,000 for @OxfamAmerica for the drought in the Sahel-Thank You 2 everyone who supported us!"
Davis isn't the only star participating in the charity drive - Blood Diamond star Djimon Hounsou had raised just over $9,000 (£5,625) for the same cause as Wenn went to press.
