Kristen Stewart was ''nervous'' about walking the Oscars red carpet on crutches.
The 'Twilight Saga' actress relied on the walking aids after cutting her foot on glass, and the injury meant she had to rethink the accessories she had planned to team with her strapless Reem Acra gown.
Discussing her preparations for the event, manicurist Ashlie Johnson said: ''She had sliced her foot and everyone was worrying about would she wear heels or flats or one heel, crutches or no crutches.
''She tried so many options, she was really a trouper.''
Her hairstylist Danilo added to Us Weekly: ''Kristen was nervous about her crutches so having her friends around playing music was just what she needed.
''We all were trying to make her feel better and her friends were trying to tell her she'd be fine, she has insecurities about being in front of people so today was even tougher.''
The 22-year-old actress ditched the crutches when she went on stage at the Dolby Theatre with Daniel Radcliffe to present the award for Achievement in Production Design and her co-presenter joked he wanted to carry her out onto the platform.
He said: ''I felt so bad. I just wanted to pick her up, put her in my arms and carry her onto the stage.
''[But] I probably would have dropped her and opened her wound again.''
