After winning a series of major awards for her role in Olivier Assayas' Clouds of Sils Maria (2014), Kristen Stewart reunites with the filmmaker for this offbeat movie, which intriguingly blends personal drama with ghostly horror. The resulting film may be rather difficult to pin down, but it's relentlessly fascinating, drawing the viewer in through clever visuals and Stewart's superbly internalised performance.
It's set in Paris, where Maureen (Stewart) is working as a stylist for an arrogant red carpet celebrity (Nora von Waldstatten). But Maureen is actually there because her twin brother recently died of a heart condition they shared. And since he was a believer in the spirit world, the sceptical Maureen hopes that he will give her a sign from the afterlife. So her job is just there to occupy her while she waits. And she's taken aback when a completely different spirit contacts her. She considers running off to join her boyfriend (Ty Olwin) in Oman, but as a witness to a horrible crime, she can't leave Paris. And the ensuing stress seems to open her up to further supernatural interaction.
Where this story goes is so clever that the audience often feels lost. Assayas is a filmmaker who doesn't like to make everything obvious, so we're left to understand the events on our own terms, and take from the movie whatever we find. In this sense, the film has a gorgeous tone, with fascinating visuals that add subtly inventive special effects to the emotional mystery. The central point here is that Maureen has never been completely honest about her feelings, only expressing herself through her fashion sensibilities. And maybe now it's time for her to pay some attention to herself. Both Assayas and Stewart do a terrific job conveying the honesty of her spiritual journey and the emptiness of the expensive clothes and jewellery that surround her.

In films like Wendy and Lucy and Meek's Cutoff, writer-director Kelly Reichardt has told sharply pointed stories about women's lives. So this drama weaves together three narratives with distinct female perspectives. Based on short stories by Maile Meloy, these tales only barely intersect, but they echo similar themes in a striking rural Montana setting.
In the central story, Beth (Kristen Stewart) is a young lawyer who drives four hours twice a week to teach a night class, where she develops a fan in a young rancher (Lily Gladstone) who has a secret crush on her. Meanwhile, Laura (Laura Dern) is another lawyer representing an injured worker (Jared Harris) who took a small financial settlement before learning that he would never physically recover. And then there's Gina (Michelle Williams), who is building a home in a gorgeous location with her strained husband (James Le Gros) and surly teen daughter (Sara Rodier). They need a pile of old sandstone that has been sitting for some 50 years next to the home of a man (Rene Aberjonois) everyone's afraid to talk to.
All of this is set against Montana's big-sky landscapes, sumptuously captured on-screen by cinematographer Christopher Blauvelt. Everything is crisp and wintry, and Reichardt cleverly designs the film in a simplistic, insightful way that quietly focusses on unspoken interaction between the characters. Yes, much of this movie is completely silent, as these women consider the realities of their lives. This of course allows the actresses to make the most of their characters, adding weight and depth to each scene, often without saying a word.

The 26 year old star also discussed her decision to come out publicly last year.
The 26 year old star, who recently made her debut as host of ‘Saturday Night Live’ and joked that she was “like, so gay”, officially revealed her relationship with on/off girlfriend Alicia Cargile to Elle last summer. Maureen Cartwright works as a personal shopper in Paris to some very high profile people. Her job is to choose and purchase some of the most beautiful of designer pieces for her clients, even if that life is far from the one she craves. It might seem glamorous, but for Maureen there is something on her mind that goes deeper than sequined gowns. Her twin brother died at a house in the French city, and 95 days later she's waiting for him to contact her. They had made a pact with each other once upon a time that whoever died first would send the other a sign from the afterlife. The only problem is, Maureen can't be sure that the vaguely unusual things she's been experiencing have been down to his presence - that is until her biggest client Kyra is murdered in her home.

Kristen Stewart to host 'SNL'
She's not exactly known for her comedic qualities, but the 'Café Society' star is going to give it her all with her first hosting gig on 'Saturday Night Live' in February. She's always been staunchly dismissive of fame, having become the focus of media attention when she was a teenager for the 'Twilight' series, but recently she has admitted to feeling more 'uninhibited', and willing to put herself out there.

The pair made their first public appearance together this week.

Kristen and Annie finally seem to have confirmed their relationship by showing up together at a fashion event in Hollywood. It seems the couple first got close when Kristen invited St. Vincent to a screening of her newest movie 'Certain Women' at the New York Film Festival on October 3rd. A source told People that 'they have spent almost every day together' since then.

Stewart split from her ‘Twilight’ co-star in 2014 and she’s now dating former assistant Alicia Cargile.
Kristen Stewart has opened up about her relationship with Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson, describing it as becoming like a “product”. The two actors began dating quietly in 2008, but by the time they split in 2014 they had become one of Hollywood’s most high profile couples, something which Stewart didn't enjoy.
Kristen Stewart says her relationship with Robert Pattinson “wasn’t real life anymore”
“People wanted me and Rob to be together so badly that our relationship was made into a product,” she told the New York Times’ Style magazine. "It wasn’t real life anymore. And that was gross to me.
Stewart and Cargile reunited this summer, having initially split up in October 2015.
Kristen Stewart has opened up about getting back together with her girlfriend Alicia Cargile for the first time since the on/off couple reunited – and this time, it seems like it’s for good.
Stewart, who has appeared in three movies this year so far, including The Huntsman: Winter’s War, Personal Shopper and Woody Allen’s Café Society, spoke to the August edition of Elle UK about her love life, and she seems really satisfied.
“Right now, I’m just really in love with my girlfriend,” 26 year old Stewart told the publication about patching things up with her film producer girlfriend. “We’ve broken up a couple of times and gotten back together, and this time I was like, ‘Finally, I can feel again.’”
Stewart stars in 'Equals' with Nicholas Hoult about a futuristic society where emotions have been outlawed.
Kristen Stewart has been reminiscing about the experience of falling in love for the first time, describing it as an “intense, overwhelming” feeling. The 26-year-old was previously in a high-profile relationship with her Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson which ended in 2014, two years after the actress was caught in an embrace with Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders.

The 'Twilight' star's new movie 'Personal Shopper' was booed after its screening at Cannes on Tuesday.
Kristen Stewart’s new movie Personal Shopper got a rather frosty reception in some quarters at the Cannes Film Festival today, with a number of attendees booing as the end credits rolled.
Not because of any shoddy acting, or because the movie itself was bad, but apparently because of its confusing ending. In the rather strange movie, 26 year old Stewart plays a Paris-based fashion assistant who shops on behalf of a megastar, who also believes she is in spiritual contact with her dead twin brother.

Foster made her movie breakthrough almost exactly 40 years ago in 'Taxi Driver', and she's expecting 'Money Monster', her fourth direction project, to be released on May 13th.
Jodie Foster has received a star on the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, after nearly five decades in the movies in front of, and behind, the camera.
The 53 year old actress was present at the unveiling ceremony on Hollywood Boulevard, and she gave a short acceptance speech after her name was confirmed among the copious hundreds of others who have graced the movie and entertainment industry over the years. She made her name in the controversial Taxi Driver in 1976, and is probably most famous for her Oscar-winning role as Clarice Starling in The Silence of The Lambs.
“I grew up blocks from Hollywood Boulevard and would cross it every single day of my life,” she said as she acknowledged the honour. “And you do that thing where you're like, 'Will I ever be on the Walk of Fame someday?'”
The ludicrous Jezebel article was dismissed by Neeson's reps as "stupid".
Liam Neeson’s revelation a few weeks ago that he’s been dating an “incredibly famous” mystery woman has had the internet blazing with speculation, including one piece which claimed that it might be Twilight actress Kristen Stewart.
However, the North Irish actor’s representatives have moved to dismiss that rumour, telling Gossip Cop on Thursday (February 11th) that even though the original Jezebel article admitted that it was based on “almost nothing” except that they were in the same New York restaurant one night, it was indeed “meaningless speculation”.

Robert Pattinson was interviewed by Esquire magazine

Jenny Lewis has a new music video. Watch it. Watch it now (but read this first).
Jenny Lewis’ new music video might be the best thing on the internet this week. Not only is the song, Lewis’ new single Just One of the Guys all about gender roles and why they’re awful, but the video features kickass ladies Anne Hathaway, Kristen Stewart and Brie Larson, rocking out and – at some points – dressing up like dudes. It looks like it was fun to film. The former Rilo Kiley confirmed as much in a recent interview with GQ, where she promoted her upcoming album, Voyager.
Lewis is stepping up her solo game.
"We screamed with laughter all day, huddled behind the monitor," Lewis tells GQ. "I haven't laughed that hard since What About Bob? came out on laser disk."
Robert Pattinson was recently overhead calling Katy Perry "hot", according to sources in a US newspaper. Meanwhile, as Pattinson is "homeless" he is rumoured to be living with ex-girlfriend Kristen Stewart in Los Angeles.
Robert Pattinson may be "homeless" but he still has the time to admire his close "friend" Katy Perry. However, as he is rumoured to be temporarily living with his ex-girlfriend Kristen Stewart, how likely is an R-Patz-KP union?
Robet Pattinson is currently "homeless".
Perry went to great lengths last year to emphasise that she was simply supporting Pattinson through his split from Stewart. In an interview with Elle, she claimed the two were simply "friends". But, nearly a year on, things between the two could have changed significantly and recent reports would certainly suggest so.
Kristen Stewart's directed a music video, but is it any good?
Actress Kristen Stewart has just added to her Hollywood CV by having a go at directing for a friend’s music video. ‘Take Me To The South’ by Sage and the Saints is an uptempo alt-country sing-a-long that, as the video shows, appears to have put a smile on even Kristen’s face. R-Patz’s ex delivering us a fun summer video, who’d have guessed?
Budding Scorsese? Kirsten tries her hand at directing
Not that we were holding on to any preconceived notions about the Twilight star, but when we got word Kristen was directing a music video, we had visions of some moody indie kids staring at their shoes while being filmed in black and white. Call us crazy, but something about Kristen’s image just doesn't scream colourful or fun. But watching the video for ‘Take Me To The South’ has let us in on a different side to Stewart, perhaps that break up actually did do her a lot of good.
Robert Pattinson has spoken out on the state of his relationship with ex-girlfriend Kristen Stewart. Could a reunion be on the horizon?
Robert Pattinson has spoken out about Kristen Stewart for the first time since their very high profile split. The pair called it quits in 2013 months after it was revealed that Stewart had been having an affair with her married Snow White and the Huntsman director. The split came just before the final Twilight movie, Breaking Dawn Part II, was released, but fortunately they managed to briefly reunite while the film was being promoted. That’s lucky for Summit Entertainment, isn’t it?

It turns out that Rob doesn’t harbour too many hard feelings though, as he recently admitted to The Hollywood Reporter that he’s still in touch with his ex. When asked if the pair are still on speaking terms and if they still chat every now and then, Pattinson cheerfully replied, “Oh, yeah.” He’s a better man than we are, not many people would still have time for a cheating ex!

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2, one of the most successfully grossing films of last year, heads up the Razzie Awards shortlist for the award no one wants to win – Worst Picture. Whilst the Twilight series has made big name stars out of the likes of Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and Dakota Fanning, its run of films has consistently been panned by ever more desperate critics, eager to see it fail.
If reviewers haven’t had much luck derailing Twilight’s momentum, though, then they certainly did a good job of blunting the momentum of the others going up against it for this year’s Razzie. The BBC reports that high-profile failures Battleship - a film based on the board game (they probably could’ve predicted that before even going to pre-production) – and Eddie Murphy’s disastrous turn in A Thousand Words are among the contenders, with the Adam Sandler-starring That’s My Boy and sickly kids film The Oogieloves in the Big Balloon Adventure making up the numbers. It’s fair to say that all these movies took quite the tongue-lashing. Here are some choice quotes from the critics:
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 (Rotten Tomatoes Critics Rating: 48%)
Kristen Stewart seems to have inadvertently confirmed that she’ll be appearing in the sequel to Snow White and the Huntsman.
That’s despite all the drama that occurred when she decided to have an affair with Rupert Sanders, the director of the original. There’s a been a huge question mark over whether or not Stewart would be appearing in the sequel, after her relationships with both Sanders and her actual boyfriend Robert Pattinson were dragged through the tabloids a few months ago.
After dropping a not-so-subtle hint to the Indie Wire blog, it seems almost a dead cert that Stewart will be appearing in a sequel but she’s going to try and stay tight-lipped over what happens in the film. When asked what will happen with her character in the sequel, she replied “Oh, it’s gonna be f***in’ amazing. No, I’m so excited about it, it’s crazy” and then had to reign in the chat a little bit when she was asked about where the film was going to go. “I’m not allowed (to talk about it). The other day I said that there was a strong possibility that we’re going to make a sequel, and that’s very true, but everyone was like, ‘Whoa, stop talking about it.’ So no, I’m totally not allowed to talk about it.”

Kristen Stewart is every 14-year-old girl's favourite vampire, so when she was announced to star in the cinematic adaptation of every 22-year-old man's favourite book, head's were turned, and not the right way.
In keeping with the feel of the movie, with her character Marylou representing somewhat of a wild child aside her lover, Dean Moriarty, Stewart didn't shy away from going topless in the film. She's been talking about filming the sex scenes with Indiewire. "I wasn't really having sex," she revealed, but we're pretty sure we assumed that. "I think if you were to isolate the scenes, it's fairly ridiculous watching yourself [having] fake sex. But within the movie, watching the movie, I do get so caught up in this one. I've seen it three times, and that's not typical for me." For Kristen, though, it wasn't the scenes of the sexual nature that proved the most daunting days of shooting. "The dancing scene was so much more terrifying than any of the sex scenes were for me. I was so scared of it," she says. "We crammed, I think, 60 extras into a tiny little room. Literally, I could feel the floor vibrating. It was so f--king cool. But I was terrified."
Unfortunately for Kristen, and all those who still regard the book highly, the film hasn't done its job in recreating Kerouac's beat. With a rubbish 47% on Rotten Tomatoes following some pretty awful reviews, don't expect On The Road to win any awards this season.

We've all heard of girls wearing their boyfriends clothes, but the other way round? Robert Pattinson swapped roles when he arrived in New York wearing a jacket that may very well belong to his other half Kristen Stewart, but rather that "aww," all we're feeling is "eww."
Rob was spotted arriving at JFK airport in New York City yesterday (Dec 22) after a week-long stint in the city, where he was filming for new men’s Dior fragrance advert. Although the two have been inseparable since getting back together, Stewart did not join Rob on the trip to the Big Apple, but it appears as though there weren't completely apart, as Rob was spotted wearing a jacket that may very well belong to his girlfriend.
The jacket looked a tad too small to be Rob's and with its floral lining and feminine cut, looked as though he pulled it from the wrong wardrobe when he was packing for NYC. Fans on Twitter are claiming that the jacket is a Japanese design only available in the Asian country and Rob has not been there lately, but Kristen has! Whilst some are suggesting it to be a gift others are saying it may just belong to Kristen. One Twitter user (@RobertsCaramel) said, “Apparently the Adidas jacket that Rob wore at JFK is only available in Japan and Rob hasn’t been there recently…but guess what? Kristen has."

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is riding high in the US box office charts (way higher than its nearest competitor, Rise of the Guardians) this week and it’s unlikely that will change, though there are at least two releases this weekend that have been causing a stir. Tom Cruise stars in Jack Reacher – the adaptation of the Lee Child novel and This Is 40, the new comedy from Judd Apatow; a sequel to the popular comedy Knocked Up.
Some fans of Lee Child’s novels questioned the decision to cast Tom Cruise in the title role of Jack Reacher. He was, after all, originally on board as a producer only but after reading the script, it seems, he decided he’d like to have a go at starring in the movie too. It looks as though the gamble has just about paid off, as long as you enter the movie theatre with the understanding that what you are about to see is very much A Tom Cruise Movie, with Tom Cruise in standard Tom Cruise “cool and calculating” mode, as described by Betsy Sharkey of Los Angeles Times.
So far, the reviews are just about erring on the side of positive, with an aggregate of 63% on Rotten Tomatoes. Let’s face it, Tom Cruise’s rep has hardly had an easy ride this year and this is hardly challenging new ground for the Mission Impossible star, who has frequented many a steely action thriller of late. However, many reviewers have surmised that really, it’s Cruise that makes this movie. “This is Cruise’s show. And he nails it,” says Peter Travers of Rolling Stone. One for the Cruise fans, then. Wherever you are.
The world turned on Kristen Stewart when it was revealed that she had cheated on her boyfriend Robert Pattinson in an affair with her then director Rupert Sanders, a married man. The effect was so profound, in fact, that some die-hard fans and vloggers uploaded heartfelt and disturbing videos onto YouTube to exhibit their tears. She has since apologized for her actions and managed to win back her British beau, however in an interview with Newsweek she felt the need to apologize again.
"It's not a terrible thing if you're either loved or hated, but honestly," Kristen says, "I don't care 'cause it doesn't keep me from doing my sh*t. And I apologize to everyone for making them so angry. It was not my intention...There was a lot of skirting of little girls at rest stops. Like a volleyball team would pull up and I'd dive behind a bush." Having said this though, she added "as long as people's perspective of me doesn't keep me from doing what I want to do, it doesn't matter." It doesn't sound like she's all that sorry to us, but that's for Pattinson to decide.
She's currently promoting her latest film, an adaptation of Jack Kerouac's On the Road after finishing her final work as Bella in the four films of The Twilight Saga. On the Road will be released in the USA this Friday, 21st December.
Kristen Stewart has admitted that she felt the pressure when appearing in the film adaptation of cult classic Jack Kerouac novel On The Road. The film finally comes out in the USA on December 21 after months of hype and there are many divided on whether the novel should have ever been transfigured for the silver screen.
ITN reports that Stewart was certainly aware of that school of thinking when making the film, and admitted she too was a big fan of the book originally published in 1957. "Obviously this book is beloved by a lot more people than me and [co-star] Garrett [Hedlund],” she said. “For decades this movie has been trying to find legs and it finally did with us and that is simply mind blowing.”
Directed by Walter Salles, the film also boasts a line-up that includes Sam Riley, Amy Adams, Kirsten Dunst, Viggo Mortensen and Steve Buscemi, so the talent is certainly there to do the film justice. But will it? Stewart certainly thought that the film has done justification to the book, passionately claiming “I would do anything. I would lay in the street for this movie. I've never done a movie that had that much sort of honor about it.” We look forward to seeing Stewart laying on the street - and hopefully more – in a few days.
Kristen Stewart has been putting in a lot of effort into creating a brand new image for herself and, of course, it all comes with a new look.
The Twilight girl has really been rocking the sheer trend lately, and rocking it quite substantially too. Not that anyone minds, though, if anyone can pull off a sheer dress, it’s her. She's been busy promoting her new film On The Road lately and looking great while doing it. On Thursday, the 13th, the leading lady graced the red carpet at the On the Road premiere in a sheer Erdem mini, paired with eye-catching red heels. The ensemble sure hasn’t been a favorite with the fashion lot, but it has made headlines nonetheless. The look is part of a whole reinvention that Stewart has been going for lately.
The young actress, who has admitted on a number of occasions that she prefers a converse-and-hoodie ensemble to pretty much anything else, has been glamming up more than ever these days. Naturally, a little bit of a reinvention would be welcome for her at this point, as Stewart is just leaving her Twilight days behind and beginning a whole new stage in her career. Besides the new style, we’ll be seeing a whole lot more of Kristen in On the Road, as well as the comedy Focus, which will start filming in April 2013. We can't wait to see what she's wearing by then!
It’s official! Kristen Stewart will be starring in a new film and this time it will be for adults.
Stewart is done with the teenage vampire drama genre and this seems to mark a new stage for her – perhaps one free of real-life drama as well. According to the Huffington Post, the flick, in which Stewart will be starring alongside Ben Affleck, could give the young actress a shot at an Academy Award.
The movie will be titled Focus and is set to film in April next year. A report in Deadline Hollywood hints that it will be executed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa. The writer-director duo has teamed up previously to work on Crazy, Stupid, Love. The film is also set to spark some controversy, featuring love scenes between the 22-year-old Stewart and her 40-year-old co-star. This may be just as well, since we all know that most Oscar bait films have to stir up some trouble along the way.

It certainly helped the box office break their Thanksgiving takings record with an estimated $290 million beating their previous record from 2009 of $273 million over the course of the American holiday.
Coming in second place at the box office was the most successful James Bond movie so far, 'Skyfall', which brought in $51 million over the weekend totalling $221.7 million altogether for the US. The immense success of the film has made 007 star Daniel Craig the highest earning British actor after signing a £31 million contract to appear in two further Bond films.

It's no surprise films keep breaking box office records; the tickets cost more. But they've still got to attract those fans into movie theatres, and that's what Twilight and Skyfall seem to be doing, as they're predicted to break Thanksgiving weekend box office records.
The tradition is to open films on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, which gives the kids - who are off school on that day - the chance to go and see their favourite characters on the big screen. It seems to have worked well for Twilight and Skyfall, as the films combined to collect $44.3 million in total U.S. and Canadian ticket sales for the day; an impressive feat for one day's work. The previous weekend, Twilight had already managed the huge sum of $141.3 million. The 2009 holiday weekend record of $273 million saw The Twilight Saga: New Moon and the football flick, The Blind Side, bring in the cash, but if current figures are anything to go by - and they're already 20% higher than 2009's effort - this weekend will herald a record breaking total.
It looks like financial posterity in the light of a global financial crisis doesn't deter film goers, in fact, a dose of romantic escapism is probably just what a struggling public need to distract them from their financial woes. The poor get poorer, the rich get richer, and the movie-stars get even richer.
The Twilight Saga is usually subject to box office analysis in the U.S and The U.K, but it's over in Spain that the final instalment of the franchise, Breaking Dawn - Part 2, has been breaking records, gleaning [euro]9.2 million (USD $11,784,400) in total box office gross, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
"Spain is arguably per capita the most successful territory for the Twilight saga, which is a tribute to the quality of the films, the faithfulness of the fans but also the work and expertise of our Spanish team," said Xavier Marchand, President of Worldwide Distribution, Alliance Films. "The movie-going market in Spain is hot right now thanks to a strong performance by [Spanish animated feature] Tad, The Lost Explorer followed by The Impossible," Rentrak's Spain General Manager David Rodriguez said. The Twilight franchise has grossed a total of [euro]71,794,410 (USD $91,896,554), in Spain, with New Moon slightly eclipsing the others with [euro]19,982,390. "This record shows the strength of the Twilight saga in Spain and the skills of our theatrical team, in a very difficult marketplace," Jorge Vazquez, Aurum's general manager said in a statement.
Twilight isn't the only movie making waves in continental Europe; this announcement comes on the heels of a previous record-breaking weekend by Juan Antonio Bayona's The Impossible, which earned 8.97 million euros ($11.5 million) in mid-October.
Luck doesn't quite cover the immense bouts of very good things that happen to Kristen Stewart, nor does Karma, but something is really working on K-Stew's side.
Last summer photos of Stewart and the married director of Snow White and the Huntsman kissing emerged, which lead to the break up of Stewart and Robert Pattinson. Since then, Pattinson has forgiven her, she's strutted the red carpet for the release of the final instalment of the incredibly successful Twilight Saga series, and now it has been confirmed that she'll be returning as the eponymous heroine in the sequel to the Snow White and the Huntsman, but that Rupert Sanders would not be returning.
"The script has already been written and production will begin late next year," a source told Radar. "However, Rupert Sanders definitely won't be a part of the project. Rupert didn't want to be a part of it to begin with because he is desperately still trying to save his marriage. The search is still on for a new director." According to the source, Kristen is very worried about her career after the end of Twilight, apparently "There are scripts coming in, but not as many good ones as she would like." Plus, "It's distressing to Kristen that Rob is attached to four separate movies over the next year-and-a-half." She fears that her summertime indiscretion has hurt her career. Of course, it could be that she's a terrible actress and anyone writing a decent script knows it, but who's to say?
A big weekend for the U.S Box Office saw the much anticipated premiere of Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 2 - the final instalment of the franchise - win the weekend at a canter.
Coming at over three times its nearest rival, Skyfall, which managed $41,500,000 in its second week, Twilight amassed a staggering $141,300,000 on its opening weekend. Having already enjoyed a limited release previously, Steven Spielberg's political epic Lincoln managed $21,000,000 in first full weekend, while Disney's Wreck it Ralph claimed the #4 spot with $18,312,000 - an impressive feat for its third week. Flight, starring Denzel Washington as a pilot with alcohol problems and also in its third week rounds off the top 5 $8,615,000. Fighting for Oscars honours with both Lincoln and possibly Flight will be Ben Affleck's Argo, which can't muster the same kind of commercial clout as it's biggest rivals. In on its 6th week, Argo holds 6th place. Astonishingly maintaining a presence in the top 10 is Taken 2. The Liam Neeson thriller, despite being critically panned has been a fair success, with $2,100,000 this weekend, and a cumulative net of $134.6M.
The rest of the top 10 looks like this: Pitch Perfect takes 8th in its 8th week, the disappointing Here Comes The Boom takes 9th spot with $1,200,000, and finally, Cloud Atlas clings on at #10 with a puny $900,000 in its 4th week.
It's not something often considered by fans, but a film's rating can exclude millions of fans should it step over the lines of the classifications they are subject to. Director Bill Condon can told MTV that the final instalment of the Twilight saga nearly earned itself an R.
"It was a close call, because they did say it was very, very intense," Condon said. "I wrote a letter [to the MPAA ratings board] and said that this is the only way we could do it, and they were cool [with it]," he added. "They said to pull back a little on the sound, the crunchy [head-smashing/decapitating] sound, and we did, and that got us our [PG-13] rating. There was one [effect] where we rip a head and you kind of see it come apart [that] I was sure we would have more trouble with, but we didn't." Hardcore vampire fans had been a little miffed at the lack of bloodsucking in previous films, but this one certainly delivers.
Saga is perhaps the most appropriate word for the Twilight franchise. A lot of focus was drawn to the infedility of Kristen Stewart, as she cheated on boyfriend and colleague Robert Pattinson. The vampire icons were amidst a cloud of strife surrounding their very public breakup, but all seems to have settled down as Breaking Dawn Part 2 enjoyed its much anticipated premier this weekend.
With a flurry of bonkers action and cross-species bonding, The Twilight Saga surges to a howling conclusion that has more attitude in it than all four previous films put together. There's no time for moping now, as things build to a crescendo of girly emotion, portentous pronouncements and more decapitations than you can count. Even the plot itself gets rather playful.
We pick things up immediately after Part 1 ended: Bella (Kristen) is getting used to her heightened vampire senses and intense lovemaking prowess with her new husband Edward (Pattinson), while their daughter Renesmee (Foy) ages alarmingly from infancy to about 10 in just a few weeks, overseen by soulmate-protector wolf-boy Jacob (Lautner). But the ruling Volturi boss (Sheen) has been misinformed that Renesmee is a feared immortal child, rather than a rare but apparently harmless human-vampire hybrid. As the Volturi army heads to Seattle to obliterate Edward and the Cullen clan (including Facinelli, Reaser, Greene and Lutz), the Cullens draft in an army of their own from around the world.
Essentially the film is a long build-up to a big showdown, as everyone jostles for position. This makes the film feel much pacier than the earlier chapters, as we jump from scene to scene while the Cullens prepare for the onslaught. Many scenes involve the introduction of the vampires who support their effort, and like X-men many have some sort of supernatural ability that can aid the fight. Thankfully, director Condon refuses to take this nonsense seriously, and has quite a lot of fun with the various story elements. He also gleefully ramps up the tetchy interaction between Jacob and Edward, and even makes a joke about the fact that actors playing vampires must wear red contact lenses.

Kristen Stewart has had the perfect excuse to don extravagant dresses recently, as the last instalment of the Twilight saga, Breaking Dawn Part 2, has enjoyed its U.S and U.K Premiers. Usually the idol of teenage girls infatuated with the vampire craze, it's U.K designer Julien Macdonald who has been the latest to sing her praises.
''I think the styling was perfect, she kept it quite simple with tousled hair and a classic pair of black heels,'' said Macdonald, Grazia Daily reports. ''Kristen is an actress who never gets it wrong on the red carpet and she lets the clothes speak for themselves whilst keeping them looking modern and cool.'' And Julien even revealed how much of a fan of the Twilight Saga he is. ''I'm a big fan of Twilight - I have liked it since the beginning and am so sad to see it come to an end!"

Some crazy Twilight fans had camped in London's Leicester Square for days before last night's UK premiere of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2, attended by the likes of Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. Spending most of their time in Los Angeles these days, the A-list pair must have thought "Who the hell's that guy?" as they spotted X-Factor's Christopher Maloney strutting his stuff down the red-carpet. Indeed, whilst their premiere earlier in the week across in Los Angeles saw the great and the good of Hollywood come out, the stars of the sci-fi film series would've been surprised to find themselves brushing shoulders with such British, um, luminaries as Jermaine Defoe, Joey Essex, Tinchy Stryder and numerous gold medallists from the Great Britain summer Olympics squad still trying to catch those last rays of their moment in the sun.
I'm sure we're all in agreement that Conor Maynard is entitled to attend a couple of showbiz parties or glitzy premieres to wind down what has been a pretty sensational 2012 for the young chart-topper from Brighton. Maynard did just that on Wednesday evening (14 November), heading down to London's Leicester Square for the premiere of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2. He's got the Capital FM Jingle Bell Ball at the O2 Arena to come and has a chance at a 4Music Video Honour at the results show on 24 November.

The phrase "The Twilight Saga" has taken on new meaning over months gone by. What once simply referred to one of the biggest movie franchises of all time, has now become a phrase that cannot be uttered without the off-screen drama of its two biggest stars, springing straight to the forefront of your mind. The final episode in the Twilight movie schedule is almost upon us but how much do we even care about the movie anymore? Does the general public's interest in Breaking Dawn - Part 2 start and end with Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart's eventful real-life emotional dramas? Or is there still a place in our hearts for the vampire movies that have consumed us (and our money) since 2008?
To recap, in case you are - somehow (though we don't know how this could possibly happen, especially not if you follow the news here at Contact) - unaware of the drama that has occurred between everybody's favourite on-screen / off-screen couple, R-Patz and KStew, Kristen Stewart was ousted as a love cheat earlier this year, when photos of her emerged, revealing that she had had an affair with the director of Snow White and the Huntsman, Rupert Sanders. To make matters even more uncomfortable, Kristen had starred alongside Sanders' wife, Liberty Ross, in Snow White and the Huntsman. Liberty played Queen Eleanor. Kristen's mother. Embarrassing stuff for all involved.
After a very public, emotional apology to her boyfriend, Robert Pattinson, Kristen found that her relationship was, by all accounts, over. The tabloid-reading world collectively stepped over the divide and showed its support for Rob, as he reportedly went to ground and hid away in the covert holiday home that belonged to his celebrity pal Reese Witherspoon. Whilst we mourned the end of one of Hollywood's cutest young romances, though, attention slowly started to turn towards the forthcoming Twilight movie. How the hell were the movie's producers going to handle the press junkets if the two lead actors couldn't bear to be in the same room together?
To the grave disappointment of everyone who was secretly (or not so secretly) longing for the exchange of frosty looks on the red carpet, the couple somehow managed to overcome their problems. The fact that Kristen Stewart had utterly, utterly humiliated Rob, very very publicly, in the kind of breakup that not only (presumably) broke Pattinson's heart but probably broke the sales records of a few weekly gossip mags, somehow got swept to one side. It started with Rob saying that he'd still walk the red carpet with Kristen, to protect her from all the nasty booing she was inevitably going to encounter from disgruntled fans and then began to evolve into stories about them overcoming their differences and - goddamnit - getting back together.
Favorite Girl? Unfortunately, it was always on the cards. Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez went their separate ways this week, owing to their hectic schedules. Though the gossip suggests Justin might have his eyes on a couple of Victoria's Secret models, we can't help but think these two might be back together sooner than you think. Watch this space.
Back in the Game: It was good to see Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson back on the Twilight promotional grind this week. Both walked the red-carpet at the Breaking Dawn Part 2 premiere in Los Angeles, holding each other close for the cameras. Who said young love is dead?
Pitt Against Zombies! We here at Contactmusic.com were a little excited this week after the first trailer for World War Z, starring Brad Pitt, hit the web. Forget The Walking Dead, forget 28 Days Later, this is the flesh-eating un-dead on another level! Check it out.
Kristen Stewart stole all the headlines after the Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 2 premiere in Los Angeles this week, wearing a lacy floor length Zuhaur Murad gown that left little to the imagination. The designer is favoured by the likes of Jennifer Lopez, so it was a little odd to see the more casual Stewart in the blingy dress.
The actress has actually donned sheer dresses before, most recently at the Snow White and the Huntsman premiere where she was spotted getting a little too close to director Rupert Sanders. It emerged that the pair had been having an affair, leading to the end of her relationship with Robert Pattinson.

The stars of The Twilight Saga walked down the red carpet for a premiere of the franchise for the last ever time last night (November 12) and there was no surprise which two of the cast were taking center stage, with Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson making a public reunion after promotional trails that have seen them take on different territories. The pair looked happy to be in each other's company, memories of their acrimonious summer seemingly all but forgotten as they lit up the red carpet in Los Angeles.
As big movies like Skyfall and Argo open in the USA and UK respectively, it's the smaller titles that are getting the most attention. The British independent drama My Brother the Devil won awards at Sundance and festivals in Berlin, London, Los Angeles and San Francisco, and has garnered four-star reviews across the board from UK critics this weekend. Now the public gets a chance to see it.
In London, the stars turned out this week for the premiere of Gambit, a remake of the 1966 heist comedy. The film's stars Colin Firth, Cameron Diaz, Alan Rickman and Tom Courtenay were on hand both for the red carpet premiere and a meet-the-filmmakers event at London's Apple Store.
Meanwhile, Helen Mirren has been doing Q&As in London for her new film Hitchcock, in which she plays Alma Reville, wife of Alfred Hitchcock (Anthony Hopkins). The movie traces the making of Psycho with Janet Leigh (Scarlett Johansson), Vera Miles (Jessica Biel) and Anthony Perkins (James D'Arcy). A new trailer makes it look like a lot of fun. And a probable awards contender too.
Not long since the harrowing and almost fatal birth of their daughter Renesmee, newly born vampire Bella Cullen nee Swan and her new husband Edward have even more deadly drama to contend with. With prestigious Italian vampire coven the Volturi led by Vampire Irina accusing the rapidly growing Renesmee of being a demon child, Bella and Edward have no time to enjoy married life and bring her up together like regular parents. When their homelife is threatened by those who wish only to protect themselves, they realise that they must band together a formidable army to fight the Volturi down in a battle if they wish to save the life of their mortal child.
This much-adored vampire love story finally comes to a close in one of the most dramatic conclusions of fantasy fiction ever written. Based on the best-selling novels by Stephenie Meyer, 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn: Part 2' has been directed by 'Part 1's director Bill Condon ('Dreamgirls', 'Gods and Monsters') with screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg (who has written all of the other screenplays for the blockbuster series) working alongside him. This final instalment is set to become a major box office hit with its release on November 16th 2012.
Starring: Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Mackenzie Foy, Peter Facinelli, Dakota Fanning, Kellan Lutz, Maggie Grace, Ashley Greene, Nikki Reed, Michael Sheen, Elizabeth Reaser, Jackson Rathbone, Jamie Campbell Bower, Boo Boo Stewart, Joe Anderson, Billy Burke, Lee Pace, MyAnna Buring, Christopher Heyerdahl, Noel Fisher, Alex Meraz, Rami Malek, Cameron Bright, Mia Maestro, Charlie Bewley, Christian Camargo, Angela Sarafyan, Julia Jones, Daniel Cudmore, Tinsel Korey, Judith Shekoni, Chaske Spencer, Casey LaBow, Kiowa Gordon, Bronson Pelletier, Omar Metwally, Tracey Heggins, Andrea Gabriel, Toni Trucks, Lisa Howard, Patrick Brennan, Tony Bentley, Valorie Curry & JD Pardo.
We were wondering how long it would be. Just days before the final Twilight movie hits cinemas, author Stephenie Meyer has refused to rule out writing more of the vampire-romance novels. It's likely that fans haven't seen the last of Bella and Edward yet, and we're not just talking about the rumoured television adaptation.
Speaking at a press junket for the new movie, Meyer was quoted by The Metro as saying, "I wouldn't say no absolutely (to more books). I'm not going to do it today, but I don't know how I'm going to feel in five years.I planned out where it would go for a couple more books... there are other characters who I think would have a lot of voice in those coming stories." However, the author did make it clear that she would not be tempted to hand the reins over to somebody else - in the same way that George Lucas sold LucasFilm to Disney - explaining, "I'm a hands-on mum and these characters feel like my kids. I just don't know if that's ever something I'd be fine with. But again, in 10 years, who knows." Last week it was announced that Lucas had sold his brainchild to Disney for a cool $4 billion, with the studio putting plans together to make further Star Wars movies. Meyer's comments come just a month after JK Rowling admitted to the BBC that she wouldn't rule out writing further Harry Potter novels.

According to TMZ, “Rob and Kristen rolled up to the Sayers Club in Hollywood in the same SUV . . . and sneaked into the back entrance to see the Purple One live in concert. A short time later, the couple rushed back into the car — trying to cover their faces — but it was too late . . . they'd been made.” During the show, "He was behind her – holding her around her hips," an onlooker told PEOPLE. "They were sweetly affectionate and tender. They stood the entire show and loved every second." Just in case any of you were struggling with the aforementioned question, the answer is increasingly looking like a big old yes, which a few months ago would have been a ridiculous thing to suggest, considering the high profile infidelities that seemingly ripped their young love to pieces.
The pair were probably just enjoying some quality time together after, like a naughty partnership at the back of the class, they were separated for promo duties for the Breaking Dawn. Robert was down under in Australia while Kiristen was putting in the hours in Japan. Life’s tough.

Kristen Stewart seems to have had her reputation saved by what will henceforth be known as ‘The Twilight Effect.’ Not long ago, K-Stew was considered the scourge of the movie world. It was discovered that she had cheated on fellow Twilight star Robert Pattinson, with her Snow White and the Huntsman director, Rupert Sanders and as a result, she was pretty much hung out to dry by the world’s media, not to mention Pattinson’s considerable fan base.
Recently, though, it has looked as though the couple have been reconciling their differences and even the staunchest of Pattinson’s fans seem to have resigned themselves to the fact that frankly, it’s better for everyone if they’re back together, otherwise that Twilight spell will be broken. So now, we have Kristen Stewart, smiling sweetly at fans during a Breaking Dawn Part Two photocall in Tokyo, Japan, looking like butter wouldn’t melt. It seems that The Twilight Effect can cure all ills… even the biggest Hollywood relationship scandal in recent memory.

Katy Perry kicked off her birthday festivities this weekend by throwing a predictably lavish costume-party at Los Angeles' Magic Castle nightspot. The singer turns 28 on Thursday (Oct 25, 2012), though hardly made an effort to upstage her famous guests by dressing as a fairly standard vampire.
It was beau John Mayer who put a little more thought into his outfit, opting to arrive as a vampire hunter complete with prosthetic nose and chin, reports US Weekly. Elsewhere, Kristen Stewart snuck into the event fairly unnoticed, while house music DJ Skrillex and girlfriend Ellie Goulding were snapped in some pretty poor looking skeleton outfits. Diane Warren, Johnny Wujek, David Burtka and Neil Patrick Harris were also in attendance. The 'How I Met Your Mother' star tweeted a photograph from the event, adding, "Thank you @KatyPerry for having @DavidBurtka and me at your frightfully fun B'day Bash at the @MagicCastle last night."
Earlier in the weekend, Katy had joined Mayer's family and friends to celebrate his 35th birthday at Freemans restaurant on Manhattan's Lower East Side.
Despite the skill behind and in front of the camera, a badly constructed script flattens this film version of Jack Kerouac's iconic 1957 novel. It's beautifully shot and sharply played by the starry ensemble cast, but the repetitive structure leaves the film with no forward momentum. Instead of a voyage of discovery, it feels like a lot of random, pointless wandering.
Thinly autobiographical, the story centres on the young New York writer Sal (Riley). He's drawn to the charismatic Dean (Moriarty), a charming rogue who's married to 16-year-old Marylou (Stewart) but is having an affair with Camille (Dunst) while seducing every other woman he meets. And quite a few men as well, including Sal's friend Carlo (Sturridge). All of them are writers and artists, hanging out in clouds of hash smoke as they drive back and forth across America in search of something to write about.
Of course, Sal finds this in Dean as their friendship ebbs and flows over several years. Since this is essentially Sal's story, it's rather odd that the film abandons him from time to time to follow someone else, leaping jarringly into another situation, often marked by Dean's sudden reappearance after yet another bit of roaming. So while we understand how everyone is held in Dean's magnetic orbit, we can't quite see the point of it all. Sal may be obsessed with his thoughts of Dean, but he seems strangely willing to abandon him time and time again. There isn't nearly enough of the scene-stealing costars like Mortensen, Adams and Buscemi. And frankly, it should be a crime to waste Moss (of Mad Men fame) in such a fragmented role.

The Sun were suggesting it earlier in the week, and now US Weekly seem pretty convinced too: Kristen Stewart has successfully managed to lure back her ex-boyfriend Robert Pattinson in spite of admitting that she'd cheated on him with Snow White and The Huntsman director Rupert Sanders just over two months ago.
A source had told The Sun midweek "They pretty much decided they couldn't live without each other. Kristen poured her heart out to Robert and told him it was a one-off and a mistake" adding that the pair had now moved into a secluded pad in Los Angeles together and that "Rob sees it as Kristen made a really stupid mistake. After a lot of long tearful talks, they've worked it out. Rob can see how truly sorry Kristen is and has totally forgiven her. They really do love each other."
Us Weekly have now backed these claims up, with a source telling them that the pair have had "a dramatic make-up", the British actor finally acquiescing to requests by Stewart for a meet-up, and that the two have had several since. Pattinson is still in love with Stewart apparently. All of which leads us to believe that the whole thing has been engineered simply as a way drum up promotion and attention on both stars ahead of the release of the final Twilight film. We'll let you decide on that though.
Well, well, well, dare we cynically point out that this was all some sort of diabolical marketing ploy? Reports from E! Online are suggesting that Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have been spending time together in secret, just a couple of months after the shocking revelations came out about Stewart having an affair with her Snow White and The Huntsman director Rupert Sanders.
At the time it looked like Pattinson and Stewart were over and that R-Patz was never going to be able to forgive Stewart, moving out of the house they shared in Los Angeles and as such fuelling rumours that he would be moving back to London. However, both of them have been making public appearances since, and both seem strangely unflustered by the whole thing, Stewart getting back to her beaming best after making a public apology to Pattinson. Pattinson's been doing a run of chat shows to promote films including the final Twilight movie Breaking Dawn - Part 2 and there doesn't seem to be too much stress for either.
There's no official word on whether the pair are back together, and their representatives haven't commented, but it's understood by E! that they are definitely talking and have even met up at a couple of different locations. Given that the entertainment media has been talking about almost nothing else over the summer other than their relationship status, this could be the biggest marketing coup for their forthcoming film.
After their reckless marriage ceremony and the traumatic near-death-experience that was the birth of their daughter Renesmee in 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1', newly turned vampire Bella Swan and Edward Cullen think they have overcome the worst. However, 'Breaking Dawn Part 2' forces them to face a vicious battle with the Volturi after they hear a false claim the rapidly growing Renesmee is an immortal child; the conception of which is outlawed due to fact that immortal children can become out of control and dangerous. Bella and Edward must protect their daughter and themselves from assassination from the Volturi and find a way to prove that Renesmee is not in fact immortal.
After the gorgeous Ravenna (Theron) marries and then murders a benevolent widower king, she locks his beautiful daughter Snow White (Stewart) in a tower.
All the better to continue draining the youth from the entire kingdom. But just as she prepares to take the now of-age Snow's heart, Snow escapes into the woods, and Ravenna hires huntsman Eric (Hemsworth) to find her. Of course, Eric switches sides when he finds her, joining with Snow's childhood sweetheart William (Claflin) and a gang of dwarves to end the evil queen's reign.

Bella Swan is finally a vampire. She discovers that the world seems somewhat brighter now and learns about the heightened senses that vampires have. Her body temperature now matches Edward's, so she no longer finds him cold to the touch. She takes quickly to vampire life - very quickly, to the surprise of the Cullens, who were anticipating that it would take decades - even centuries - for Bella to adjust.
The Evil Queen, Ravenna, is very beautiful but very deadly. Early in her reign, she despaired over 'battles fought and lives lost' but now, she draws strength from the cries of war. Each day, she looks in her magic mirror and asks 'who is the fairest of them all?' The answer is always her.

After an idyllic woodland wedding and Brazilian-island honeymoon, Bella (Stewart) finds herself unexpectedly pregnant by her new vampire husband Edward (Pattinson). But what's growing inside her? Edward's family closes ranks to take care of her fast-growing foetus, watched over by her wolf-pal Jacob (Lautner). The problem is that if Bella dies, as seems likely since the baby is sucking the life from her, the tenuous treaty between vampires and werewolves will be broken, leading to all-out war. This of course puts Jacob in a tricky position.
