Arendelle is coming to Florida!
It was only a matter of time before Disney increased the presence of Frozen at its theme parks and it seems Epcot is to become the first to get the Anna and Elsa treatment. On Friday Tom Staggs, chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts announced a new attraction based on the hit movie, which the company plans to launch in early 2016.
Frozen will be coming to Epcot by 2016
“We’ve made Frozen a part of the guest experience in a number of ways already and our guests have both loved them and asked for more,” said Staggs. “So I’m pleased to say that we’re starting construction at Walt Disney World Resort on a brand new Frozen attraction at the Norway Pavilion in Epcot.”
To the delight of worldwide fans, Elsa, Anna and the gang will be back for a short sequel in 2015
Considered to be one of the best, if not the best, Disney animated feature film and musical since the era of such greats as The Little Mermaid and The Lion King, 2013’s Frozen stole people’s hearts all around the world. It was a huge success, both commercially and critically, ranking as the highest-grossing animated film of all time and recieved two Academy Awards and a BAFTA.
Disney's Frozen captured hearts everywhere
But after the whirlwind of princesses, ice castles, unlikely heroes and catchy songs - how would millions of children (and adults) worldwide ever find anything that could live up to the high bar Frozen had set?
This December ‘Peter Pan’ will be flying on to NBC but who’s onboard for the musical so far?
Following on from last December’s ‘The Sound of Music Live!’, NBC have announced that their next musical offering will be a performance of 'Peter Pan'. The classic tale by JM Barrie has had many re-imaginings over the years (and there’s still two more to come), but this one sounds like it could be one of the most interesting. Why? Because it will contain Christopher Walken as a tap-dancing Captain Hook.
Christopher Walken will play Captain Hook
Yes Christopher Walken is the first cast member confirmed for the 'Peter Pan' musical and he’ll be taking on the role of Captain Hook. Considering Walken’s aptitude for playing villains and his musical skills, a turn as a song and dance pirate sounds a perfect fit for the Oscar winner. As NBC Entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt remarked, "He might really just be a song and dance man at heart. ... This might be the first tap dancing Captain Hook you've ever seen!”
Some casting director made a genius decision with Walken, but there are still a lot of roles to be filled.
The big news from Hollywood this weekend is that Christopher Walken has signed on to play Captain Hook in NBC’s live adaptation of Peter Pan. The production will follow up on the moderate success of NBC’s first attempt at a live musical adaptation with The Sound of Music. The adaptation, which aired in December and starred Carrie Underwood and Stephen Moyer, earned moderate reviews and great ratings for NBC.
Meet your new Captain Hook - Christopher Walken.
Walken is the first name announced on the Peter Pan cast and his involvement raises the bar for the rest of the cast and the production overall. After the announcement was made, he came out with the following: "I started my career in musicals and it's wonderful after all this time, at this point in my career, to be in this classic musical I watched as a child and to work with (producers) Neil Meron and Craig Zadan again after [2007 film adaptation of] Hairspray.

She actually works as an Elsa impersonator, making appearances at special occasions, including children's birthday parties and proms, reports ABC News.
Veronica Mars is out on DVD, and we've got a spin-off to look forward to.
The Veronica Mars crowd-funding movie gets a DVD release this week, which should see the movie's takings get somewhere near its $6 million budget and prove that the whole thing was worth it. In fact, Veronica Mars got pretty good reviews and it's safe to say that fans of the cult television series were owed a movie.
Kristen Bell as Veronica Mars in the crowd-funding movie
Those supporters who funded the movie are now getting an extra special thank you in the form of a new spin-off series on The CW. The digital-only studio announced Monday that they're launching Play it Again, Dick, with Ryan Hansen in the lead role.

The Disney Studios animation's soundtrack is currently at the top of the charts due to a huge increase in sales from Easter shopping.
Disney's 'Frozen' has quickly become one the most successful animation movies of all-time, reaching record numbers not just at the cinema, but in the music industry as well, with the movie's soundtrack finds itself topping the charts once again.
'Frozen' soundtrack is No.1 on the Billboard 200
The studio album to the beloved fairytale flick has reached No.1 on the Billboard 200 album charts for an 11th time by earning its biggest sales week to date, mainly charged by Easter shopping.
The soundtrack for Disney's 'Frozen' keeps topping the Billboard 200 charts, what's so great about it?
The question is really, what’s not good about the Frozen soundtrack? We’ve been playing it repeatedly on Spotify since the movie first came out, but why has it struck such a chord with kids and adults alike? We thought we’d talk you through why we think the Frozen songs may make up the greatest Disney soundtrack of all time. A big claim, but we reckon we can back it up.
Frozen has become the highest grossing animated film of all time
Possibly the catchiest song from the Frozen soundtrack, “Do You Want To Build A Snowman”, sung by Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel AKA Elsa and Anna, hears Anna sadly serenade her big sister in the hope that she’ll come out and play with her. It sets the tone perfectly for the rest of the film, showing how sad little Anna is about her sister distancing herself. It’s the love between these two sisters that is the important theme in the animated film, rather than the usual Prince/Princess dynamic. This is important in itself, it’s a little dated these days to expect the typical boys meet girl, boy saves girl, storyline. Frozen steers away from this, it’s a wholly more modern concept that any of the previous Disney movies.

Who knew there was a magical story hiding behind Disney's 'Frozen'?
Disney’s icy adventure ‘Frozen’ can now call itself the highest grossing animated film of all time after surpassing ‘Toy Story 3’ by taking over $1.072 billion at the world wide box office. That’s quite an achievement for Disney, but what makes it all the more remarkable is the real story of how ‘Frozen’ made it to the big screen. A journey which took nearly 70 years until a seemingly small idea was mentioned.
Frozen has overtaken Toy Story 3 to becoming the highest grossing animated film
The origins of 'Frozen’ lie in the Hans Christian Andersen tale ‘The Snow Queen’, a story which had been the subject of a major Disney headache for nearly 70 years at the time of ‘Frozen’s’ inception. Back in 1943 Walt Disney saw the potential of the Danish author’s stories, which included 'The Little Mermaid’, ‘The Emperor’s New Clothes’ and ‘The Snow Queen’. The original plan was for Walt to collaborate with Samuel Goldwyn to produce a biographical piece on Andersen and incorporate some of his famous works into the story, using Disney animation. Eventually the project fell through and Goldwyn went on to do his own movie on Andersen in 1952, leaving the animation part out. Despite the setback, Disney never lost sight of the potential of Andersen’s stories, most notably ‘The Snow Queen’.

Disney's latest animation has become the most successful to date.
Frozen has finally overtaken the sales of Toy Story 3 to become the highest grossing animated movie of all time. The Oscar-winning musical comedy dominated the box office over the winter period. The last big push for the film's release came as it opened in Japan this weekend - one of the world's largest and most influential film markets. The hugely popular Disney flick hit has since reached $1.072 billion in box office revenue, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
'Frozen' Has Finally Surpassed 'Toy Story 3' To Become The Biggest Animated Movie Of All Time.
Since Frozen's release late in 2013, it has made $398.4 million in the USA alone with an extra $674 million coming from other markets around the world. The movie's popularity was boosted by its chart-smashing soundtrack, strong presence on social media and awards success at high profile ceremonies including the Oscars, the BAFTAs and the Golden Globes.
The Oscar-winning animation is now in 10th place on the highest grossing films of all-time list.
Disney's 'Frozen' was released last November (2013) and has now become the highest grossing animation of all-time, beating the $1.063 billion mark which was set by the Disney/Pixar movie 'Toy Story 3' in 2010.
'Frozen' has become the most successful animation of all-time
The plot is a retelling of Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale, The Snow Queen, follows 'Princess Anna' (Bell), the future Queen of Arendelle, along with mountain man 'Kristoff' (Groff) races against time to prevent her sister, 'Elsa' (Menzel), from unwittingly turning the kingdom into an eternally icy realm, along the way 'Anna' meets new friends and learns vital life lessons.

Funded by fans, this follow-up to the cult TV show feels a lot like an extended reunion episode. But even those unfamiliar with the series will enjoy the twisty plot and smart dialog, plus the sparky Kristen Bell in the title role. And while there are rather too many characters for a stand-alone movie, they all feed nicely into the central mystery.
After escaping from the run-down seaside town of Neptune, California, nine years ago, Veronica (Bell) has become a New York lawyer. But just as she's on the verge of landing her first proper job, an old friend is murdered back home, waking her investigatory instincts. The worst of it is that her ex Logan (Dohring) is the prime suspect, so Veronica heads home to help him clear his name. Her private eye dad (Colantoni) just rolls his eyes when she slips back into her old mystery-solving role, working with her pals Mac, Weevil and Wallace (Majorino, Capra and Daggs). But three other classmates - Gia, Cobb and Dick (Ritter, Starr and Hansen) - are also involved. And the fact that she keeps putting off her return to New York annoys her boyfriend Piz (Lowell).
The most refreshing thing about this film is the way filmmaker Thomas refuses to play by the usual rules. Bell may have been offered a dream job, but we fully understand why she's blowing it off to help her friends. And the whodunit plot is just intriguing enough to hold our interest: we don't really care who the villain really is, but it's fun to watch Veronica dig through the clues and challenge every level of authority. And the script gleefully stirs in red herrings, side-plots and lots of suspicious-looking characters.

Four days into the conference, there's already a lot to be excited about.
For those who care about films in the slightest, South by Southwest is the place to be this week. The conference, which runs March 7th through March 16th in Austin, Texas, is the place for enthusiasts to see the latest films, get album previews and generally have tons of fun. So, four days into SXSW, what are the highlights?
The VM cast was out in full force at SXSW.
First of all, there was Seth Rogen and Zac Efron’s Neighbors, which pits Rogen against Efron in a battle for dominance over a suburban street. In this comedy, directed by Nicholas Stoller from a script by Andrew J. Cohen and Brendan O’Brien, Rogen plays one half of a newly married couple, who are just settling into their cozy suburban nest. Efron and his band of frat boys, however, are there to ruin everything. According to THR, Neighbors got big laughs at its Paramount Theater premiere, so it might be one to look out for later in the year.
It's official. The Veronica Mars movie exists and the people at SXSW have already seen it.
It wasn’t enough that SXSW attendees get to see and hear the latest music and films earlier than anyone else – they have Veronica Mars too. The film about the plucky high school detective (not so plucky, but still high school now) premiered at the Austin, TX festival this Saturday. The cast could not be more excited as they walked the red carpet at SXSW Music, Film + Interactive Festival, chatted with fans, took a couple of selfies (as is traditional) and generally shared the love.

Disney's 'Frozen' has joined two pretty exclusive clubs.
The folks at Disney will be pretty happy with Frozen’s performance; not only did the film clinch a first Animated Picture Oscar on Sunday night (March 2, 2014), but it surpassed the $1 billion mark in the global box office standings, and with the DVD yet to be released and a Japanese market to exploit, the story doesn’t finish there.
According to Disney, Frozen is the 18th all-time highest grossing movie and their 2nd best performer after Toy Story 3. Not bad for a film that reportedly cost $150m to make and market. That’s a tidy profit for sure. Other Disney movies that have reached $1 billion globally include The Avengers, Iron Man 3, the second and fourth Pirates of the Caribbean films, and Alice in Wonderland.

'Frozen' has proved to be hugely successful since its release

The Fan-Funded 'Veronica Mars' Movie Is Almost Here!
The film sees Kristen Bell reprise her role as the unbeatable Veronica Mars, only she has walked away from the crime-solving part of her life by becoming a top-notch lawyer and making her father very proud. However, her new start is interrupted when she is summoned to her hometown of Neptune to attend a high school reunion.
Veronica Mars spent her teenage years as a private eye alongside her detective father. Despite achieving a private detective's license at the age of 18, she plans to walk away from that part of her life now having seemingly had her fill of solving grisly murders. Now older and wiser, she has made it as a formidable New York lawyer, to the immense pride of her father. However, her new start is interrupted when she is called back to her hometown of Neptune during a high school reunion. NBC say the surprising return is 'shrouded in secrecy'
'Heroes' was one of the most talked dramas on television when it aired in 2006, initially being well received as an original concept, then because of the stark dip in quality, which became an in-joke for the media’s more satirical outlets.
Remember 'Heroes'? Well, It's Back.
Now, it seems, Heroes is back for more. The studio plan to bring the show back in 2015 as a miniseries - imaginatively titled: 'Heroes Reborn.' NBC aired a teaser during its Olympics coverage on Saturday, giving fans of the cult hit a real thrill.

The Disney singer will perform the hit ballad 'Let It Go' from 'Frozen' at the Oscars.
Idina Menzel will bring her rendition of the Disney Frozen's hit song 'Let It Go' to the upcoming Academy Awards ceremony in March. The former Broadway singer will sing the song during the live telecast of the Academy Awards, Oscars show producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron announced today, via Billboard.
Idina Menzel, Singer Of The 'Frozen' Song 'Let It Go,' Will Perform At The Oscars.
It has been speculated that Idina's key role in the Oscars' entertainment means that 'Let It Go' is practically a dead cert to win the Best Original Song, as evidenced by Adele's performance of the James Bond Skyfall track, 'Skyfall,' last year. If 'Let It Go' wins, the prize will go to the songwriter and the composer, Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez.
An online spin-off has been commissioned by The CW's digital platform
With the crowd-funded Veronica Mars movie heading to cinemas in the very near future, there is a fever surrounding the amateur detective not seen since the show first debuted back in 2004. In an effort to cash in on this renewed interest in the show, a spin-off web series has been commission by The CW, to be aired on their digital platform CW Seed.

'Frozen' might be the safest bet for kids at Christmas this year.
Things are a bit thin at the cinema for kids this Christmas. The only new release for the holidays is the 3D adventure Walking With Dinosaurs, which is oddly aimed at very, very young viewers and will drive their parents crazy with its inane dialogue. Read our full review of the movie here.
Disney's 'Frozen' Is A Safe Bet for Christmas
Much more appealing, Disney's Frozen still sits near the top of the box office chart even though it's been out for several weeks now. So everyone's seen that by now - probably two or three times - but it's worth planning a return visit this coming weekend (it's definitely a better bet than those dinosaurs). And in a pinch, the still-lingering Free Birds at least offers some mindless laughter.
Disney's 'Frozen' dethrones Lionsgate's 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire' to secure the top spot at the box office in its second week of release.
Disney's princess fairy-tale 'Frozen' finally dethrones the dystopian epic sequel 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire' at the box office after earning an impressive $31.6 million in its second weekend of release.
Kristen Bell voices 'Princess Anna'
Lionsgate's 'Catching Fire' has dominated the box office for the past two weeks but it slid to the second position, taking in $27 million.
Disney learns a lesson from Pixar's Brave, giving these orphaned princesses some feisty purpose that doesn't depend on a man. Everything else about this movie is fairly formulaic, including the requisite goofy sidekick character. But the frosty animation adds a stately, dramatic tone that's picked up by Broadway-style songs and just a hint of moral complexity in the story, which is based on Hans Christian Andersen's story The Snow Queen.
With her ability to freeze anything at a touch, young Queen Elsa (voiced by Menzel) has spent her life hidden away in the castle. No one can know her secret, including her restless little sister Anna (Bell), who meets her dream man in Hans (Fontana) on the day of Elsa's coronation. But Elsa's startled reaction to this news triggers an ice age in the kingdom, which sends Elsa fleeing to hide in the mountains. So Anna decides to track her down. She enlists help from local delivery boy Kristoff (Groff) and his pet reindeer, and as they head into the hills they encounter one of Elsa's newest creations: a singing, dancing, scatterbrained snowman named Olaf (Gad).
The winter wonderland setting gives the animators a lot to work with, and the imagery is spectacular. We actually shiver at the gleaming ice and snowy landscapes, which are so detailed that they make us want to see the film again. The characters are also sharply rendered, although they're designed without much subtlety, including the usual Disney physicality in the girls' big-eyed Barbie-like figures. But the plot keeps us off balance by, for example, giving Anna two eligible men to choose between. And also by making Elsa so internally conflicted about her unwanted powers.
