Electronic music pioneers Kraftwerk will be the subject of a high-profile academic conference examining their influence and legacy later this month (Jan15).
Wolfgang Flur, a former member of the groundbreaking music collective, will attend the event at a university in Birmingham, England to read extracts from his memoir and take part in a question-and-answer session.
Delegates will also discuss various essays and writings by experts examining the history and origins of the band and its music.
The two-day event, called Industrielle Volksmusik for the Twenty-First Century: Kraftwerk And The Birth Of Electronic Music In Germany, will be the first ever academic conference centred on the band.
It will take place on 20 and 21 January (15), ahead of the Grammy Awards on 26 January, at which Kraftwerk will be given a Lifetime Achievement honour.
