Rockers Kiss have come top in the 2012 Ultimate Classic Rock Awards after scooping six top prizes.

The Rock and Roll All Nite hitmakers landed honours including Artist and Album of the Year, for Monster, in the Ultimate Classic Rock annual reader vote.

Kiss also won Song of the Year for Long Way Down and Best Reissue for a revamped version of their classic album Destroyer, seeing off competition from Pink Floyd's The Wall: Experience Edition box set.

However, Kiss lost out in the Tour of the Year category - their summer (12) trek with Motley Crue came second to Guns N' Roses in the poll.

Led Zeppelin were also big winners, scooping two trophies for their live album and concert film Celebration Day, which documented their one-off 2007 reunion gig in London.

Rod Stewart's memoir, Rod: The Autobiography, was hailed the Book of the Year.
