Kiss star Ace Frehley is to team up with former GUNS 'N' ROSES rocker Slash for a collaboration on his next solo record. The guitarist was forced to put his solo career on hold when Kiss reunited in 1996, but he has decided not to rejoin them this year (08) for their forthcoming world tour - opting instead to go back to the recording studio to put the finishing touches to new LP Pain in the Neck. And Frehley will be bringing in fellow axeman Slash to give the album an extra rocking boost, insisting he needs to get back to his roots for the new disc. He tells Blabbermouth.net, "I've been listening to my first solo album with Kiss, because everybody says that's their favourite record. I was trying to figure out what made it so special, so I'm trying to incorporate a lot of what that record had for this new CD. "It has a lot of different aspects and shows different musical sides of me, and it's something I'm trying to recapture. I don't know if I can do it but I'm gonna take a shot at it."
