Kirstie Alley - The 60-year-old actress Kirstie Alley admits that she was "broken" before agreeing to feature on this year's Dancing With The Stars, reports US Magazine. Alley spoke candidly on the Oprah Winfrey show today, describing her dancing experience as "cathartic".
60-year-old Alley, best known for starring in 'Cheers', made a strong start to the reality dance competition but has made several mishaps in recent weeks. Despite slipping down the leader-board, the actress admits that dancing has enabled her to regain her confidence, saying, "It's actually been cathartic for me, because I felt like I was broken for a while before the show. It's given me confidence back, so it's been amazing". Kirstie lost a considerable amount of weight before the season premiere and still hopes to drop a further 30 to 40 pounds. Her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy credits the actress with making the show's seventh season his best yet, saying, "I've never had a star of this calibre before. All my partners were amazing, but this is a whole new side of Dancing with the Stars I've never experienced".
Despite losing her shoe during this week's routine, Kirstie Alley was saved from elimination on Tuesday night's results show. Former world champion boxer Sugar Ray Leonard was instead given the boot.
