Alice Eckle is a roller-skating waitress deeply in love with Indiana State Trooper Scott. Before the two can get engaged, however, Eckle suffers a severe accident with a nail gun and gets a nail lodged deep in her skull. Unfortunately for her, she doesn't have any health insurance so she is forced to walk away from hospital without any surgery to remove it. In the meantime, she suffers brain damage which causes her to have mood swings, an increased sex drive and unpredictable behaviours. Needless to say, Scott is less than keen on the idea of marrying her now. No matter though, Alice appears to have other things on her mind; she wants to meet young Congressman Howard Birdwell to show her support for his proposition of beginning a healthcare bill. Unfortunately, he doesn't seem to have a clue what he's talking about, but that doesn't stop her falling head over heels for him.

Kirstie Alley has finally been given a channel to lift the lid on her feelings towards ex-Scientologist and actress Leah Remini. The actress, comedian and fierce Scientology supporter vented her anger on Wednesday's edition of The Howard Stern Show.
Kirstie Alley Lashed Out At Leah Remini On 'The Howard Stern Show.'
Though Alley was being interviewed on the show to promote her own new sitcom, Kirstie, the conversation moved to her faith and how she claimed that Scientology had saved her younger self from destruction when she was a cocaine addict.

Leah Remini and Kristie Alley appear to have fallen out over Remini's decision to leave the Church of Scientology. According to one report Alley is 'livid', however she has defended herself via Twitter saying she is not concerned by anyone's religious beliefs.
Leah Remini has left the Church of Scientology but few of her religious friends are remaining loyal. One of her former Scientologist chums, Kristie Alley (Cheers), is said to be 'livid' about Remini's defection.

The King of Queens actress allegedly left the church following disagreements with its management. These disagreements are reported to have begun in 2006, at the wedding of Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise. She apparently asked David Miscavige where his wife was (Shelly Miscavige was withdrawing from public life at this time and she has not been seen in public since 2007).

Leah Remini doesn't know what all the fuss is about.
Leah Remini, the American actress best known for The Talk, is bewildered by the attention focused on her split from the Church of Scientology.
"Leah really didn't understand how this would become a news story," a friend of the actress from her 'King of Queens' days told the Chicago Sun-Times. "That was a bit naïve of her, to be sure."

The actress has discussed her disgust at the marketing techniques used by the fashion company.
As the backlash against Abercrombie & Fitch's decision not to stock XL or higher clothing continues, Kirstie Alley has stepped into the argument and slammed the company's policy. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, the actress voiced her disgust at the label's marketing techniques and said that she has forbidden her children from ever shopping their again.
Alley was discussing the recently resurfaced statement from A&F CEO Mike Jeffries, in which he admits to specifically targeting his clothing to 'cool' and 'popular' people, in the hope that his label is not tarnished by overweight and ugly people. In the statement, taken from a 2006 interview with Salon, Jeffries explains that by not limiting his target demographic his clothing would become less desirable, and as such his profits and marketability would suffer. He said, in every school there are the cool and popular kids, and then there are the not-so-cool kids. Candidly, we go after the cool kids. We go after the attractive all-American kid with a great attitude and a lot of friends. A lot of people don’t belong [in our clothes], and they can’t belong. Are we exclusionary? Absolutely. Those companies that are in trouble are trying to target everybody: young, old, fat, skinny. But then you become totally vanilla. You don’t alienate anybody, but you don’t excite anybody, either."
