The sexy actress starred in Coppola's 1999 hit The Virgin Suicides and was so moved by the "life-changing experience", she burst into tears while paying homage to the film-maker at a tribute at New York's Museum of Modern Art in front of her then-boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal, actor Bill Murray and maverick director QUENTIN TARANTINO.
She gushes, "It was Sofia who changed me. It was a life-changing experience. She didn't want me to be the 'cute American girl'. Which is what all the others had seen me as.
