Kirsten Dunst fought with director Sofia Coppola over her choice to cast Josh Hartnett as her leading man in The Virgin Suicides because she didn't think the actor was good looking enough.

The SPIDER-MAN star was sceptical that Hartnett was the right man for the role after checking out his "head shot."

But then she met the Pearl Harbor hunk and realised he would be perfect.

She recalls, "I didn't think he was good looking enough... I said, 'Sofia, are you sure?'

"Then I met him, and I was like, 'OK, very, very good choice Sofia.' I was a little intimidated."
