Movie veteran Kirk Douglas and his wife ANNE renewed their wedding vows in California at the weekend.

The couple first said their 'I dos' at a ceremony in Las Vegas, Nevada, in 1954 and reaffirmed their vows before 300 friends and family members at the famous GREYSTONE ESTATE in Beverly Hills yesterday (23MAY04).

Guests included Dan Aykroyd, Lauren Bacall, Nancy Reagan and TONY CURTIS.

Kirk Douglas walked into the traditional Jewish ceremony to the tune of I'M IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE and later sang a tune he'd written for the occasion, PLEASE STAY IN LOVE WITH ME.

Douglas' son MICHAEL was unable to attend the ceremony because he was with his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones and their young children as she films OCEAN'S TWELVE in Europe.
