Members of the American rock-band Kings Of Leon appear to have contradicted the official reason given for the group's cancellation of a gig in Dallas on Friday (29th July 2011). Singer Caleb Followill left the stage midway through the band's set last week, telling a confused audience, "I'm trying to sing but I haven't got a voice, I've got nothing", reports Bbc News.
Responding to jeers from the crowd, Jared Followhill said, "I don't know what to say. It's not our fault. It's Caleb. He can't play", before the entire band disappeared. The official reason given for the cancellation was that Caleb was suffering from "heat exhaustion and dehydration", however, bassist Jared told Twitter followers, "There are internal sicknesses & problems that have needed to be addressed", before adding, "I know you guys aren't stupid. I can't lie. There are problems in our band bigger than not drinking enough Gatorade". Drummer Nathan Followill told fans, "Not so good morning 4 me today. Ashamed & embarrassed by last night's fiasco". The group also cancelled a gig at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in Houston, Texas, the following evening. They are scheduled to continue the tour in Tampa, Florida, on Tuesday (2nd August 2011).
Caleb Followill married the Victoria's Secret model Lily Aldridge in front of his Kings Of Leon band-mates in California earlier this year. The band released their fifth studio album 'Come Around Sundown' in 2010.
