The reality TV star's hair stylist Peter Savic wanted to prepare her to look like a glamorous movie star of yesteryear for her big wedding to basketball star Kris Humphries last Saturday (20.08.11).
He said: "We wanted to make her an amazing movie star from the 40s, 50s or 60s like Sophia Loren or Ava Gardner or Elizabeth Taylor. She looked very polished. It was classic and tasteful yet exotic."
He added that the intricate chignon was a one off and he "just created it that day" alongside Kim without going through any previous trials.
Kim's look was completed by make-up artist Mario Dedivanovic who used moisturiser by La Mer and By Terry Touche Veloutee concealer under her eyes, to give her a fresh-faced look.
As the wedding was a full evening event he ensured things stayed put by setting the make-up with CHANEL Poudre Universelle Libre Natural Finish loose powder.
He said: "She wanted to look like the most polished and beautiful version of herself."
Kim's famous smoky, dark highlighted eyes were another matter of great detail for the artist.
He added to People magazine: "I used Lancome 5 Pan Eyeshadow Palette in Golden Frenzy. I swept the golden shade all over lid, the darkest shade along her crease and the lightest shade I used on the brow bone to highlight. I swept the golden colours along Kim's lower lash line for a super-soft smoky look."
For volume on The Lashes he added "two coats of Lancome Hypnose Doll Lashes mascara in So Black."
Mario added he used Tatcha Blotting Papers and had to keep her look classic, so it could work with all three of the different dresses she wore throughout the ceremony.
