New Year's Eve is arguably the most important evening of the year for celebrities looking to earn big money, but Kim Kardashian appears to be taking things to a whole new level. Last year saw the likes of JAY-Z, KANYE WEST and COLDPLAY headline the opening of the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, but the biggest party for 2011 seems to be at another Sin City hotspot.
Kardashian is heading to nightclub TAO, inside the Venetian, where she will be paid a reported $600,000 for a series of appearances throughout the night, according The Wrap.com. The reality star is often seen frequenting the club during episodes of her show Keeping up with the Kardashians. The huge figure dwarfs the average fee for a high profile celebrity on New Year's Eve - Las Vegas nightlife expert Jack Colton explained, "The average New Year's Eve fee for relevant talent is $100,000.An A-List celebrity moves up to $250,000, and for a major grab can go as high as $1 million. Your Lady GaGa's and Jay-Zs would be considered major grabs". Publicist Melissa Berger, whose clients include KARINA SMIRNOFF, added, "It's a talent arms race, especially in bigger cities".
Though venues can reap the rewards of a strong booking, a highly promoted New Year's Eve appearance can work wonders for the celebrity involved too. Berger added, "When you go to Vegas, you want to be on the same radar as venues that have Jay-Z hosting the weekend after you". Elsewhere this year, Axl Rose and GUNS N'ROSES play the Hard Rock Hotel while Kim's brother ROB KARDASHAIN hosts at the Tryst nightclub, also on Las Vegas.
