Representatives for Kim Kardashian have dismissed the existence of a ‘second sex tape’, saying that the explicit footage that has recently emerged online is in fact “old”.

The 36 year old mother-of-two, and ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ star, moved swiftly to shut down the rumours that newly leaked footage that has appeared online in the last few days features her, as reported by The Mirror.

Speaking to MailOnline on Wednesday (February 22nd), Kardashian’s people laughed off the prospect that this was a ‘second sex tape’, saying: “It’s not new – it’s the same old tape”.

Kardashian, of course, rose to international fame a decade ago, when her notorious sex tape from 2003 that featured her and then-boyfriend Ray J was leaked in 2007.

It had been obtained using illicit methods by adult brand Vivid Entertainment, the ensuing lawsuit seeing Kim eventually accept a $5 million settlement for dropping the case.

While this now constitutes the distant past, and undoubtedly thrust her name into the spotlight, Kim has recently expressed regret that the entire episode ever took place.

Talking to Love magazine at the end of last year, the model and entrepreneur described it as her “one regret in life. Maybe that’s how some people heard of me but I didn’t launch my career off of that. That was 12 years ago, no, 13 years ago, so I just try to move on and put it in the past because I think everyone in life does things that they’re not proud of but you can’t sit and dwell on them forever.”

Then, speaking to Oprah Winfrey soon after that, Kim echoed the sentiment. “I felt like I really had to work 10 times harder to get people to see the real me.”
